Awesome Cleaner

Some time ago we were reading about some of the cleaners that other owners used on the exterior of their RVS and recall some mentioning a cleaner caller "Awesome" available from Dollar Stores. We are getting set to begin our fulltiming the first week of November and want to do a major cleaning before we go. We would love to hear about strengths used, etc. We have been so busy getting the house ready for sale and packing that the Monty hasn't seen much use this summer, except for a week to Ohio in August. Any info would sure be appreciated!

Much thanks!

The strengths necessary for different types of cleaning are listed on the bottle. They go from full strength to 120 to 1. Most are 10 to 1.

I would be careful and read the directions as it does say do not spray the windows right form the bottle with out deluting it. It will mess up your windows.... So watch out

Another point to ponder with Awesome, is that you MUST rinse it all off after cleaning. We personally love it, but have been victim of not rinsing after cleaning some of the caulking around the rig, and the caulk disintegrated! Yikes! So.... It is awesome for cleaning, greasy stuff like BBQs, or cleaning your silk flowers with a diluted solution, or just general use, just make sure you RINSE. Good luck.

Good stuff!!!! I have four spray bottles with different strengths. 5:1, 10:1, 20:1, 120:1, and the 1/2 gallon at full strength.

I have cleaned spots out of carpet in Monty and car floor mats. Windows with 120:1 the truck with 20:1, black streaks at full strength all have had good results. I used it full strength to clean a very dirty roof after my 2003 rig sat up for 20 months while we were in China.

The rinsing admonition is true.

Thank you so much to all of you for your responses. We have a beautiful day here in Pock Island IL, so we'll be spending the day doing some major cleaning.

It works great on bugs, too. I spray it on full strength and then scrub with a solution and a soft brush, then rinse. Works like a charm, and no damage to the decals so far. I don't know if it matters, but I use the Awesome Orange.

The only problem with full strength is that it will remove the wax.

We buy that stuff (the orange stuff) by the case at $1.00 per bottle. We don't worry about the wax coming off as we never wax it.

We had to use Awesome full strength to remove some tree stains that we got on the rig in Tennessee. We had waxed the RV before our trip and after using it full strength I could see that it did remove the wax we had previously put on before our trip. We don't have the high gloss on all of our Monty so we will keep it waxed. It did work great at a diluted strength on the black streaks, and I didn't notice that it removed the wax.

Happy cleaning

Colleen
