Water in storage compartments
We have a new 2016 3790RD Monty. I have noticed water in the storage compartments when it is cold and I have to run the gas heat. I have checked the pipes and no leaks. any suggestions?

Are you getting water inside or just heavy condensation?

Is it puddled in one spot or moisture spread over large areas?

Early on, we had a slight leak in our basement area, could not pin down where it was coming from. I finally pulled the plastic panel off the area behind the convenience center and found a couple of the fittings loose and dripping. Haven't had any water in the basement since.

It is in puddles and in all compartments. I think it is condensation from the heat being on. I hope that is all.

One would think then you are on the right track. I would suggest trying to run a cheap fan or two in those areas to help with air movement while trying to dry it out.

You could also buy a smaller dehumidifier and set it in the basement storage area with the hose(if it has one) running out of the hole in the convenient center. You don't say where you are at but if you have high humidity there this may be the answer OR you could buy some of those humidity gathering cups or bags that they sell at Camping World or Wally World too. I'd put them in a small bucket or plastic tray so the moisture does not get on the carpeting or floor in the storage areas more than it is already.

We have found those moisture gathering plastic cup type things at dollar stores and keep them(3) placed around our 5er during the humid summer months. Amazing what they do collect but work over a long period rather than a quick fix.

Is this the basement or storage compartments in one of the slides? We have battled excessive moisture in the storage compartments under the bunks.
The only solution we found was to vent the compartment, we cut a vent from the compartment to the inside of the rig and put a vanity vent cover over the hole, we also run a small electric fan in the compartment and the issue has gone away! It was the only thing we have found to work in the excessively humid Southeast AK environment.
Those DAMP RID buckets are true wonders until but I find they do little to combat condensation in winter months, they also are INCREDIBLY nasty when they spill
