New Dometic Comfort Control Center 2 Thermostat

Anyone notice this????

I have contacted a RV repair tech but determined that this is a firmware fault in the thermostat that may be common to all or many of the Comfort 2 units. This is what happens:

Clock set to 08:00am @ 0800hrs
Mode set to furnace
Fan set to automatic

Program 1 set for 8am to 68F
Program 2 set for 10pm to 60F

8am - 11:59am Program 1 ->68F
12 Noon - 12:59pm Program 2 ->60F
1pm - 9:59pm Program 1 ->68F
10:00pm - 11:59pm Program 2 -> 60F
12 Midnight 12:59am Program 1 -> 68F
1:00am 7:59am Program 2 -> 60F

The time slots between 12:00 and 12:59 reverse am and pm and revert to the wrong Program mode causing the furnace to climb to 68F at midnight.

Any easy way to check is set the clock to 11:59, wait one minute and see if the program mode switches at 12:00.

This is the thermostat:

We have the same problem, at 12:00 going to the opposite program setting. We have had the service department check it out, they reset it and said to try it for awhile. That did no good, we called Dometic and they wouldn't help at all. So what do we do????

We have found on another forum that there is at least 4 having the same problem with the same thermostat.

You would think the current spankin new thermostats would be without problems, see if you can send yours back for a brand new fault-free thermostat. It's guaranteed for a year, I think.

I had contacted Keystone and asked if they would get Dometic on board. Keystone has replied and indicated that Dometic's programmers have duplicated the problem and are working on a fix. Keystone will update us when that happens.

Thanks for pushing the problem, I think there is more out there that don't realize they have a problem.

Email from Keystone today. Dometic will be re-programming new thermostats and shipping to owners having serial numbers that are affected. Could take 1 to two months.

My thought would be that Keystone will assign someone there to build a list based on production data. It shouldn't take too long to do that. You should be able to contact them in a week or two and see if you're on the list. If I get a notice indicating a replacement thermostat is being sent to us, I'll update this post.

Having met you today Dave, I am impressed further with your knowledge on this matter. You may get hired by Dometic or Keystone to troubleshoot this further. Enjoyed our conversation today. Tks. dennis

Thanks Dennis. It was a pleasure to meet you and your DW Judy. You are actually the first MOC members that I've met. We hope to attend a future rally and join in celebrating with more club members.
