Installing trailer wiring

Planning on buying a Montana 3255rl in the next few months. Simple question:

Where does the brake/lights wiring harness originate from on a Montana and what does this plug look like?

I'm assuming the Montana uses a 7 pin plug for it's wiring harness. I'm also assuming it's long enough to connect to the typical socket thats located below the fender, near the license plate. You don't have to install a special connector somewhere inside the bed of the truck, do you?

Is there a name for the wiring plug/socket? I have a very simple 4 wire connector on my Ford F350 now, and obviously have to upgrade that and get myself a brake controller. (any suggestions on which one I should get?)
