Northern California-Bodega Bay-March 2012
March 22-27, 2012
Come join us for a weekend at the Beach....not a rally, just a get-together. It will be fun to get together for Happy Hour and maybe dinner. We are staying at Porto Bodega on the water. The last time we checked there were still a few sites left on the water and several inland sites. We have not stayed in this park yet....although we have driven through several times. Many of our friends have stayed there, and have been pleased with the park. The sites are full hook up. We will be arriving on Thursday afternoon March 22 and leaving Tuesday March 27. Hope to see you there.

Hey this place looks great - we had been looking for something in that area but did not see this one. We will call them today! Sounds like fun, I am ready for a trip/adventure!

For some of our other more adventuresome MOC'ers there are lots of sites at Westside and probably some at Doran. Both are really nice, but with no electricity or sewer hooks ups. There are hose bibs not at every site, but a short distance away. After a couple of weeks at Quartszite.....I am ready for full hooks ups...thus our choice of Porto Bodega. I guess I am still a 'city girl' at heart!!! Bodega Bay RV Park is also close by and full hook ups...although it is not on the water. A very nice park though. See you there!!

The country around Bodega Bay is beautiful. I used to live on Tomales Bay just south of Bodega. The Russian River country just north of Bodega is also very nice....wish I could join you. Have fun

I called Porto Bodega two days ago and got an answering machine. I left a message and they have not called back - do you know if they are closed during the week for the winter?

I am sorry that happened. I have not had that problem, a real person answered when I called. I would suggest try calling again. Better luck!!

Awww, too bad! My brother will be visiting from Georgia that weekend-- otherwise we'd go. We usually stay at Doran, but the last time we drove around Porto Bodega it looked very nice. They have re-organized and landscaped the campground.

We may be in the area about that time. We will try and connect, it will be our first time to connect with anyone from the MOC. We are planning to leave Portland March 13 and make our way down the coast on 101, meeting our kids and grandkids at DL the first week of April. This is our first trip as retiree's so don't want any "have to be there" schedules other than DL. We are going to try the "4 hour drive and two day stay" rule.

Just a FYI for those that haven't camped in this area, it's extremely popular and all campgrounds book up in advance. In July there are fireworks and I would bet that has been booked up for a couple of months already.
Would love to come out in March but I have an outpatient surgery scheduled that will keep me out of circulation for most of the month.
We are at Bodega Bay right now camping at the Doran Beach Campground and there is a Montana a couple of sites away. I think i'll mosey over there and see if they are MOCers.
