WOW, Sorry to hear that...I am surprised but also understand it can happen to anything mechanical new or used. But for the money you pay and the huge inconvenience it is an extremely hard pill to swallow... Wish you well & good luck!!!

I used to think that to, but according to a few mechanics I've spoken with they only "test" a certain amount of selected engines. I don't believe any manufacture does an after assembly bench test anymore. But I could be wrong.

Sorry to hear about the new truck. I don't think you can go wrong with either Dodge, Ford or GM/Chevy. They all can have issues or not. Sounds like your dealership is trying to make it right for you guys.

This is the very first I have heard of a cummins failure. They are a tried and tested engine.
