Electric Awning 2
The right side (as you look at it) of my electric awning seems to bind a bit when raising. When fully raised the extension poles do not completely cover the metal pieces affixed to the side.
I have used some silicone spray but that does not seem to help. Any ideas what I should look for (at)?

Is the awning winding up even. Also, are the tension knobs loose on both sides.

We occasionally have a bit of binding, just hanging when starting to extend. We found a pin at the top dragging. That could be where yours is hanging up, where the cover arm goes over the top pin. With time, it has worn so doesn't hangup much anymore. Is this a new awning and does it bind the entire way? Ours, fully extended does not bring the lower arms fully straight out.

I have the same problem, no binding going up or down but the front does not go over the mount like the rear one does. Mine has been like that since new and by measuring the top and bottom I found the parts mounted to the trailer sides were not the same distance apart.
It is next to impossible to move those mounts because they are only out about a 1/4 of an inch so you cannot re-drill the mounting holes and move it.
It is just another of the wonderful bits of workmanship displayed at the factory and was never caught by QC or the dealer.
I would suggest measuring and see if the bottom is the same distance apart as the top, bet it isn't.

I took a file to the inside of the cover where it was binding on the pin at top, and that eased the binding. Yes, ours is a bit out at the top also, which caused the problem. If yours is bad enough, instead of new mounting holes, the existing holes in the aluminum bracket could be elongated sideways enough to adjust the mounting brackets.
