problem Winegard 360+ Router

This is for anyone thinking of buying a Winegard 360+ router.

Upon install, I found that this would work with my Roku, a DISH receiver wifi, two android cell phones, and a Chromebook. However it would not work with a Lenovo laptop running Ubuntu 22.04. The laptop connects without Internet and I've been unable to make it work. I can shut down the laptop, restart the router, and go to network connections and see that the router thinks it's connected to my laptop. But this is not possible since the laptop is powered down. The router holds a permanent and flawed connection forever to Ubuntu OS.
I notified the seller and was sent a replacement router. However, the replacement behaved just like the original. It was easy to get customer service to send me a replacement, noting that the replacement had the same problems. Their customer service makes a good effort to support the product.
I also find that the router is unstable. I have to reboot it at least once per day. And connection speeds are in the 6-9mbs range, and I'm in an area with very strong cell signal. I expected something a little faster.
I don't think this was quite ready for prime time. It needs work. And while they are at it they should add support for 5ghz.
I'm a retired software engineer whose done a lot of network programming. I have an above average understanding of LAN and WAN.
I've used Lenovo laptops running Ubuntu for many years. The combo is rock solid stable. This is the first time I've had such trouble with wifi connections. I do not think the problem lies with Ubuntu.

Are there other Wifi routers you've used that have worked with Ubuntu? I know next to nothing about Linux OS's but it does seem there are some universal protocols that have to be in place in order for LAN and WAN systems to cross-function with all kinds of different hardware along with various OS's and their different versions.

Is there a WAN port on the router into which you can connect a different Wifi router to see if it connects any better? Or even a wireless Wifi amplifier/booster you could try?

Seems like you shouldn't have to go through any of these steps but just thinking out loud for troubleshooting purposes.

Edit: just wondering about any Out-of-date issues? Old OS or old hardware that's isn't up to speed with newer hardware?

First and most of all, I want to thank you for you input.

My wife and I are nomads who live in a fifth wheel. We travel A LOT and we've been in more RV parks than I can count. Many if not most of these offer WIFI. While not very good, most work to some degree. I've never seen a time in which I could connect our many devices while not being able to connect the laptop. IOW, the laptop has always worked in the past if anything works. Actually, the laptop will sometimes connect when our phones will not.

I'm reaching out to the internet using a web browser using the TCP/IP protocol. The port number is universally set at 80 and nobody would be able to connect if this port was closed. And... I've been unable to find a place in settings where I can configure ports. I suspect they've opened the common ports (23, 80, maybe 53, 25, etc). Most routers offer this, but I can't find it in the Winegard.
Thanks again. I truly appreciate it
Tom
