New Tires

Well, I had a nonrepairable slow leak in a tv tire so I decided to upgrade. I added the 265's from Les Schwab. Went with a 10 ply highway tire instead of the AT's I have been running on my vehicles since 1993. I figure I would be doing more highway than off road, since we don't boondock yet.

These are rated at 3415lbs each which will help with the weight problem as my GAWR will now be within limits. Now if I could just get the trailer weight within limits also.

Has anyone changed out their 6000 lb axles for 7000 lb axles? If so, please PM me. I would like to know the particulars.....

Thanks

Phil

Toyo makes their own tire. Les Schwab has most of the west coast market for Toyo.

Phill,
I did not run the H/T, but did run the Open Country A/T. I was able to get 50,000 miles out of them. A friend pf mine has the H/T's on his Dodge and he has more than 60,000 on them. Because I have to deal with the snow and ice, I ran the A/T's. If I was not moving to Iowa, I would have gone with another set of Toyo Open Country A/T's. I notice a dramatic difference between my pervious Toyo's and my current Goodyear Wrangler Pro Grades. These Wranglers have more sidewall flex compared to my previous Toyo's.

I personally think you are going to like the H/T's. I know I sure liked my A/T's.
