Cheap Gas ???

Many of us are now on the road or will be shortly to relocate to warmer climates. Our son sent us this website, http://www.gasbuddy.com. and we thought it might be worth checking into. Not sure how accurate it is, but did check out our own city and found it to be right on target.

It's fairly accurate. We use the http://www.tampagasprices.com and find it very useful. The listings are only good for 48 hours and there are a number of stations with low prices that don't get listed.

These websites are all related to gasbuddy.com and they are quite accurate. I have been using them to save money on gas almost anytime I have a trip over 100 miles planned. The following link is the main national link you can follow to any state, then city, in that state...

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/gaspr...es/index.shtml

Or, can type in your state name in www.(yourstate)gasprices.com.

The state link will have some of the major metropolitan areas also listed as Glenn has posted, where you can type in the name of the city in place of the state name above. However, when you click on "Additional Gasoline Price Info for (ST) Cities:" almost every town in the state is listed in the left column of this page and there is also a place for you to report prices.

For instance, I go to http://www.michigangasprices.com to see how the prices are doing in the state, then I go to the left column under "Search for Gas Prices" and scroll down to "Traverse City" to see what's going on around me.

Glenn is right... a lot of stations in some areas don't get reported... it's up to us. Also, when you report (you don't have to register) don't forget to report the diesel prices also. There's an even bigger gap in reporting here. It would be nice if more people knew about this reporting system.

Thanks Glenn & Lorraine and also David Sprik for your replies. We are fairly new MOC members, tailer owners and just completed our 8 week maiden voyage in September so many of the websites you are accustomed to are new to us.

David, we are practically neighbors. We live in Mt. Pleasant!!! Are you with the T.C. schools? I retired from the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools 4 years ago (first grade).

Wally, I am in the process of retiring from Kalkaska Schools (High School Science Teacher). Dec 1st. I tore my rotator cuff at school 4/2004. Three operations and a lot of pain medication later, the doctors gave up and declared my right shoulder/arm a permanent disability last May. I just had my left shoulder operated on 2 1/2 weeks ago to repair a 20 yr tear in that rotator cuff. It was successful, but rehab is painful. Cheryl & I plan on FTing starting next May.

Cheryl & I travel to Mt. Pleasant every Sunday night. A long time friend and business associate of mine decided to start a church in Mt. Pleasant a couple years ago. We started going there to lend our support to him and his wife and we fell in love with the people. They are like family now. Cheryl & I enjoy the trip back and forth once a week. I was also an oilfield engineer in my former life, and spent alot of time in Mt Pleasant. Remember Atlas Supply on N. Mission? They were our warehouse and trucking company. Haven't been following the Chippewas this year. I catch parts of their game once in awhile on 98.5 FM. My alma mater is Mich Tech. I was Senior on Tech's 1974 9-0 team when they picked CMU to go to the playoffs over us. 9-1 Central Michigan was moving to Divsion I the next year. No one even came close to them as they walked through everyone to the Div II NCAA Championship. They would have cleaned our clock with the team they had.

Sorry guys... got off thread.

You can PM me anytime, Wally.
