Eventually there will be "blood, guts, and gore".....tires, truck parts, trailer parts, and ATV parts/pieces scattered all over the highway. Hopefully he doesn't take anyone else out with him.....SIGH. Stupid is as stupid does...! Maybe they are trying to recreate Lucy and Desi and the "long, long trailer" movie, modern version!

Reason for no fender, Featherlite has 205/75/15 ST tires. On the way to Colorado he blew a right side tire. Tore up the fender, so he took it off. The fender on the left is bent. Seems like he was in a parking lot and caught the front of a parked car as he was leaving the lot.
A really nice guy to visit with. Left Gunnison, on the way to Lake City.

Certainly the police have seen this going down the road so how does he get away with it?

Brian, We come out west every summer, this is normal for out here. Back in your neck of the woods, maybe not.
A couple of my favorites from last summer.......

What do people think about when they do that. it looks like from the pictures their having issues because they are working on it. Its a Duramax not superman. I hope there isn't any big hills seeing that truck doesn't have an exhaust brake.

There is no need to do so much with so little of a truck foot print. Should at least have a drw. "You can not have too big of a truck".

My guess is that local police don't concern themselves with weight issues. I'm guessing that would be Highway Patrol (CHP in California) or State Police. Even then, when I resolving my weight issues (went from an F-250 to an F-350 rearend) the CHP officers I consulted couldn't help. My impression is that only comes up when an accident occurs and one is trying to establish liability.
As far as I'm concerned there isn't enough attention given to this problem for the private sector. I do hear that weight compliance is far more compliant with commercial gear and rigs. I towed commercially as a transporter for about 3 months and there was certainly more attention, but it was still mostly self-checked.

Art I would definitely agree with you at least here in Washington State. Back in the seventies the weight stations were always open and very strict. (My dad and step dad both drove a truck) then they seemed to build all new weight stations and now ninety percent of the time they are closed. If you look at the weight rating of a regular car and see what they are actually carrying you will find a lot of them are overloaded. I know pickups are also overloaded. Both RV owners, small contractors and home owners are also overloading their rigs. Especially those that haul gravel. As for enforcement it seems that law enforcement is more worried about speeding, red lights and aggressive drivers. I have myself seen more RV wrecks due to high winds and not understanding how weight distribution hitchs actually work than anything else.
