Is the Diesel Fuel in the States Ultra Low Sulfur. On the pumps here they have a sticker on the pumps but I have never seen one on the pumps around Bellingham Wa.

They are also required to have a sticker on the pumps stating type of fuel. Most of the diesel IS ULSD.However it is wise to check the pump for the sticker.. Many Pilot Truck stops DO NOT have ULSD,,I have not come across a flying J that did not. We have come across some truck stops that will have ULSD at the RV pumps but NOT at the big truck pumps. We always send out who ever is not driving to spot the pumps. Here in the States LSD can be used till Dec 2010. So be alert.

Here in WA every thing is ULSD... as to the reason its ULTRA Expensive... you will find some (few) stations with the LSD ... however these pumps are Marked "Not For Use in 2008 Model year Vehicles" fwiw... I have not seen one of these stations for about a year...

Thanks I have filled up at the Texaco Truck Stop in Ferndale which is just down the road from our campground and was a bit worried when the cashier didn't know what I was talking about.

I started to pump at the only station in Wapiti, WY, today. I could not find any sticker. I went inside and asked the cashier. She did not know what kind of diesel was in the pump. So I had to drive 18 miles back to Cody, WY to get USDL fuel. I was not happy.

On a recent trip to Florida, I encountered only one station which did not have the ULS sticker. I had started to pump, but stopped immediately and drove on to another station which did have the sticker and filled up. The second station, to my pleasure, was less expensive. That is the only station I have ever noticed without the sticker since this became the standard for diesel.

They are only required to have the sticker if the state is allowed to sell both ULSD and LSD. I know in California we never saw a sticker but when I asked we were told CA allows only ULSD to be sold.
