First outing
Took the new rig on it's maiden voyage over the Thanksgiving weekend to Sycamore Lodge in NC. What a difference over our Cougar 28SGS! Had a small issue backing it in because of a poorly placed utility pole and a couple trees, but with some patience and good signals from the wife, we got her in there and was drinking margaritas 15 minutes sooner because of the 6 point auto level! Really believe we made the right move on buying this rig! So much room and storage; can't wait to hit the road full time!

Congrats on your first trip. You might think about picking up a pair of the little family portable handheld radios. My wife and I have used them for years now and they really help a lot. No more missed hand signals and No YELLING at each other too!! She can warn you to stop faster.

Congratulations and may you soon be full timing it. I have always like the Couger brand but if I remember correctly the Montana is one or two clicks above it.

I would imagine you are saving a lot more than 15 minutes with the leveling process. I believe I spend more that, first with side to side and those Lynx blocks, then unhitching then more time with front to back. My BIL has the 6 point system and saves lots of time. Congrats to you on using this feature.
Watch out with all those storage places. It's easy to get overweight just because there is room in the rig.

Congratulations on the new rig. I too love the 6 point level system. A very nice improvement.

Congrats on the new 5er. We are looking to make an upgrade to a 5th wheel(currently have a 31ft BH TT) and I have a quick question for you and or all. We (ceo/wife and I) went to the Hershey show and the wife really liked the bunk house 5ers with one concern. How is the new pivot/hinge door on the bathroom. At the show, many seemed off/ not quite right.
Cheers and safe travels,
Ed

Mike and Amy, Congrats on the new rigs. You will find so much wonderful advice and opinions on this forum. You have a 2016 truck and a 2017 Montana, that a big investment, so my advice is that they are made for the road and enjoyment. Use them as much as possible, even if it's just for a weekend close by. Safe travels and fun, hope to see you on the road.

We bought a 2016 Montana that has the pivot door in the bathroom. We love the room it saves and it makes walking in the hall much easier. We did have an issue on our last trip and my husband got stuck in the bathroom! Fortunately it was an easy temporary fix and we have taken it to dealer for a complete fix. Congrats on your new rig. You'll love it!

Congrats on your new rig. I read where it was suggested that you pick up a couple of portable radios. We had those also but it seemed that we would either forget them at home or we would forget to charge them. We use out cell phones and put them on speaker and it works well with my wife giving me directions. Enjoy your new rig.
