Every time we've cleaned the outside windows we've never been able to tell if it worked. Cat nose prints on the inside watching what we are doing makes the window look worse than it did before.

The DW uses her home-made glass cleaner and it works well. I'm not sure of the exact amounts, but you should be able to Google it. It contains vinegar, ammonia, a drop of Dawn and water.

What ever cleaner you use, use wadded up newspaper to wipe it off. No streaks. Windex works fine with it.

For water spots, lime scale, salt scale, I highly recommend Barkeepers Friend Liquid. I have used it on windshields and glass shower doors when nothing else worked.

I use vinegar and water (1 vinegar to 16 water) in a spray bottle with the wadded up newspaper noted above.

A friend suggested this with RAINX, says they use it on their ambulance's windshield and it works GREAT.

Although I've been to chicken to use steel wool on my glass.

Croftgate products work great. I use Aquanil-X or Wash-N-Wax to clean the entire Montana while camping. I do a section at a time so I don't have to work too hard. We use it on cabinets, counter tops, glass, mirrors, gel coat, fiberglass, rubber, plastic, and the truck.

2001 Ford Truck - Washed with Aquanil X and it rained a few days later.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers--does great on waterspots. Also great on bugs on front of trailer.

DW uses these towels from Krystal Klear Products. You just use water. She cleans all the glass and does not streak. Really a nice product. There web site has all the details.

Try using vinegar and the original blue Dawn soap! The DW uses it in the shower and it takes off all of the built up soap scum and hard water marks. She says to use equal parts of vinegar and Dawn BUT heat the vinegar first and then add the Dawn and put it in a spray bottle and spray the windows or shower door. Make up small amounts at a time- see last sentence in this post as to why! She said you can also spray it on or saturate a rag and wipe the glass down. For best results, leave it on over night then wash it off! It sure has works on our unit and also at the S&B! IF you don't get it all clean the first time, make up another batch and spray it on again but remember don't heat up the original combination because it can get rather messy in the microwave if you heat up the combination of vinegar and Dawn again. Dawn and microwaves do not mix!

Extremely popular and what works fabulously is a microfiber window polishing cloth from a company known as Norwex. You can google their products but I tell you this window cloth is the best there is for cleaning windows and mirrors. We usually wipe the window with a cheaper wet microfiber cloth, just water, and then polish when it's still damp with the Norwex window cloth, Amazing!!!

we use Invisible Glass that we buy at Walmart in the auto section. gets water spots off with ease. don't use the nozzle/pump one but buy the aeresol spray one. spray it on, let it sit for about 30 seconds spray a little more and wipe off. i use 2 rags. 1st to wipe off, second to go over it again.
