We have a 2020 381TH and a 2018 RAM 3500 DRW 4WD. With your truck being 2WD, you should have more cargo capacity then I do because the truck weighs less. It is a great setup! We have pulled it to Disney World in 2020 for Christmas, besides that I have only pulled to our seasonal site in Northern Minnesota. We are getting ready for a 5 week trip starting 3/13. I handles really well and is stable in a cross wind, you should enjoy the ride.

I have a Reese Elite 20K hitch. It is heavy and I can not move it. Have to get my Son-in-laws to do it. I leave it in most of the time since I don't haul much in my truck when we are not traveling. What I like about this hitch is it has plastic wear plate so you don't need a disk on the trailer pin box. Buying a hitch is a lot like buying many other things. You need to look at what hitch gives you what you want. Do you need to remove the hitch so you have an open box, then you will want to look at the hitch weight. Or, you could look at the Reese Goose Box and then you use the gooseneck ball in the center of your box. I assume you have the puck system in the truck to make installation extremally easy. Most of the hitches will come apart in 2 to 3 parts to help moving it in and out. There are Reese, Curt, B & W and other quality hitches.

A couple things you may want to look into getting.
1. TPMS for the trailer. Monitoring the tire pressure can save you from having a major blowout.
2. Rear and side cameras on the trailer. I first put in the rear camera to help see what is behind you. It is nice when changing lanes and merging in traffic. After our first pull, I installed side cameras to help see the side. With close to 42' I didn't like the view with only the mirrors.
3. Check the tires. These come with Rainer tires which are not the best quality and a known for blowouts. I went with Sailuns and went up a load range to give me a little more piece of mind. It will not allow you to go over the gross weight limit of the trailer, 17000 lbs, but gives you a stiffer side wall so it can better handle the stress when backing up.
4. A quality EMS to monitor the electric coming into the trailer. DON'T get just a surge protector, you need what a true EMS has to offer. You can get them the plug into the power pedestal or that are hardwired into the trailer.

The list is probable more then you were looking for. There are other items you will want to get, but these are some of the top items. Congratulations on your new rig, you will enjoy it. Also, welcome to the MOC. This is a great group with a lot of knowledgeable folks that will help you a lot, and they are willing to share their knowledge.

Safe travels!
