BUGS!

Is there any product out there to prevent or get ride of the bugs/dirt that accumulates on the face of the camper while driving. A peel away film would be awesome. If that doesn't exist maybe I should design one! Thoughts???

Purple Powder get it Advance stores. It will remove bugs from the front of vehicles better than anything product I have found and it’s as good as any wheel cleaner and it’s cheap $10 or so per gallon. Mix it 30% to 70% water. Spray it on let set a few miles wipe the bugs off.

I use either old or new dryer sheets for the laundry. Just wet the front down and then wet the dryer sheet and wipe the front down. It's surprising how they take the bugs and grime off. I then just rinse it with the hose and away they go. If the first washing does not get everything a second will. I have an extending mop that I rubber band the dryer sheet to and I don't have to get the ladder out then either. By the way, the dryer sheet also puts a covering on the nose and it's much easier to take the bugs and grime off the next time.

I have found "timing" is the secret to removing bugs from the front cap. After 3 travel trailers and 1 fifth wheel, I attempt to wash the front cap while it's raining. Sounds silly I know, but after it starts raining awhile, all the dirt, bug, and gunk on the front cap gets softened up. If you don't mind getting a little rain on your bonnet, a long handled soft RV brush with a little of your favorite soap, and things wash off real nice. Then the rain will rinse all the soap off.

I don't do this all the time, but sometimes, it's real convenient. And when i do it in the rain, bugs dissolve. I suppose after they get soaked with water, they soften up and wash off easier.

Anyway, that's how I do it.

I haven't caught any colds yet from being in the rain. Maybe that part of me as a kid just never grew up! I still love playing in the rain, at 66 years of age! My grandson and I (age 8 now) have a blast when it rains!

I have one of these. This is my first summer trip with it; works great so far.
