On both of my duallies the sweet spot was 12psi.

I added airbags/with compressor that actually had left/right separate controls ... nice - this was the 2005 Toyota Tacoma - would pull much of an RV - now have '17 Ram 2500 with Auto Air Level - real nice. When dropping a bumper pull loaded, crank hitch down, trip hitch open - set to alternate height - drive away - reverse to grap
