Oz, the seat belt on our Ford was having spells that it would lock up. It would act just like the way you have described it. We contacted our dealer and they offered an extension for the belt. A very short belt normally used for larger people (IMHO). However, this really helped with the belt to keep it from locking up. I won’t say that it is a cure but it helped our situation. The good thing about it was that our Ford dealer provided it at no cost. I had to sign for it though. With the type of problem you are having it wouldn’t hurt to check with a dealer and see if that offer might be available.

Thanks Bill, I will ask them. They probably won't be able to make it 'stick', or do what it occasionally does..

Ozz (and others), those surveys are important! For eons, the only recourse most people had with shoddy service was to go elsewhere. Dealers knew this and if there wasn't another dealership near by, too bad. Now, whenever they enter a service call, even on vehicles out of warranty, the manufacturer is notified and sends out a survey. As some of you have experienced, dealerships are very concerned about these surveys. The manufacturers finally realized that crappy dealers were driving away customers. Dealerships have been lost because of their poor service.

So by all means, fill out the survey!

MSRP for the alignment shims (if we are talking about caster/camber) is $39.00. That is for the Ford shims, dealers (such as us) use aftermarket shims that are better than the Ford shims and that may be where the price difference is. Unless that price is for two of them......

It is good to have a smart parts guy on our team, thanks Ed! I think the mechanic came up with some from his junk drawer, as they didn't charge me for any.
Yeaaaa!

Sure is nice to visit a service center where the staff knows what they are doing and DOES NOT TRY TO RIP YOU OFF. Find one, keep them on your list of places to recommend to others.
