2013 3800 RE Montana

Just in the process of ordering this unit. Met with Mike rep from Montana and ordered mods thru him.
Does anyone know Keystone's policies on discounts when ordering new units. DO they alway go by the MSRP or, like other dealers, give somewhere near a 10 % discount.
Any information on paying only as much as I need to. LOVE the Montana.

Not sure what you mean. Montana does not sell units direct you buy through a dealer. You can negotiate a discount with the dealer.Do not even thinkg about paying MSRP.

Start thinking in the ball park of 30-35% off MSRP. Dealers are hungry...

Agree, things are tough out there for many dealers. When we negotiated for our last unit, the salesman laughed me off the lot, and three weeks later called us back and met our price for the new and what we wanted for the old one.

Expect a large discount on the new or a great over allowance for your trade in. If you get the big discount up front, don't be surprised at a low trade value. If the man is a straight shooter, he will explan the trade clearly. Beware of any evasiveness. A good salesman will not hide anything or surprise you. Larry (Camping World sales rep in NC)

Agree, you should be able to get 35% off MSRP.

We bought a 2012 3100 RL in Feb this year. Paid 62% of MSRP (discount of 38%) then trade allowance after that. Very happy with dealer and Monty!

Lake Shore RV in Muskegon MI and Gillette RV in East Lansing MI are owned by the same family. Theres a long story that goes with this but thats for a later story. But the one thing I will say is that I went into Lakeside RV and was left standing there for a better part of 10 min. before a salesman come out of there office so I could question him on a unit. He was just looking down at his desk after looking up at us several times. He finally shows and I ask him a price on a unit and he gave me a look of, yea right buddy like you really are going to buy. He gave me a price and I said I was interested but he needed to come down a bit. We had been looking for some time so we knew what we wanted. He said thats the price and its not negotiable. Whats with that? First price and you don't want to deal? We obviously got up and left!! I think the blue jeans and a t-shirt looking guy wasn't a good impression. What yea think? LOL

Generally when I go to buy the big stuff I'm dressed in my shorts and T shirt. Mistakes have been made over the years, but professional sales people won't miss a sale because someone didn't dress to impress.

We got ours from Lakeshoer via the internet. Our salesman Bob was great. We stayed on site for 3 nights so that customer service could be sure everthing worked right. We would buy from them again.

30/35 % on a cash deal sure.Remember that t is 30/ 355 off what. Many dealers inflate the Sticker price then give a big discount.
we saw internet pricing on the 3402 big Sky as high as 86K. `Trade in is a different story as what the dealer can get for your trade in is part of the overall profit for the dealer.

Dave,
I have a 3800RE Big Sky on order , what kind of mods are you getting? I placed my order thru Lerch RV in Pa, you should be looking at at least 30% off MSRP, depending on your trade balance.

Msrp on my 2011 3750FL was 83 paid 46 at the Detroit rv show. Got exactly what I paid for my 2010 on trade in. In my limited dealings they are desperate to sell so shop around and be ready to walk. If you are too eager they will pick up on it.

Hi Ed:
We are ordering our 3800RE with the Mor/Ryde pin, Dual pane glass,a second Fantastic fan located in the Bathroom, the large fridge, electric fireplace. It comes with the Moving to Montana Package and the Hickory Edition Package.
So adj. base price 61,225. Options 9,510, Misc. 16,116 others including freight 2,200 for total MSRP 89,051.
We have excluded the 6-point hydraulic leveling at 3,475 as we have been RVing full time for 7 years and have not seen the use. Also always have concern on weight and problems with pneumatics.
This unit is being ordered from the factory for delivery to Edmonton, Alberta,Canada.

Thank you all for your input.

David

There is a dealership in Duluth Mn that does not want my business either. My wife and and I went there on a new $37,000.00 Harley and spent about 30 minutes looking around and going in and out of different units. Not a single sales person approached us. I left and bought the Montana elsewhere. I have gone back and bought some small parts out of neccessity but I won't deal with them more than I have to.

Ordered 3800RE last week with expected delivery to Cars RV and Marine, in Leduc AB,August 15, 2012. Just in time for a shake down cruise before headed south to Arizona for the winter. From NADA data on the value of our trade ( 2004 Carriage Cameo LXi F35CKQ) our discount was 25% from MSRP. Paid $ 50M. Thank you all for input.
Hope to see some of you at the Montana rallys. Dave
