Gamblers

Don’t you just love the people that chase you down and tell you if you would have stayed 3 more hands you would have got that straight flush?
I look at someone and think; they must live here, as they are always here when I am here….
Then there are those who are starving, but won’t spend $5.00 on a sandwich because that money might be the ‘Big win’.
Smokers. I think they only gamble because they can smoke there. They sit at a machine, hypnotized, sucking that cigarette like it was a breathalyzer tube, then blowing it in your face.
Gamblers are a superstitious lot, women rub the screen of a slot before each spin, some clockwise, some counter-clockwise. Doesn’t seem to help much, but I think they prefer counter-clockwise as a whole.
In the old days, you would have to lug around the plastic quart container with coins in it, now they have a slip of paper that shoots out when you are down to 60 cents.
The Max spin button is 4 times larger than the others, and placed so you can accidentally hit it when meaning to hit the 5 cent spin, I bet..pardon the pun, they make quite a sum on accidental Max spin presses.
Then you have the women; (haven’t seen any men do this yet) that ‘Help you gamble’ They are out of money, just sit next to you and comment on how that machine just paid someone a jackpot.
I was talking to a guy the other day at a casino, he said he only gambles so he won’t cheat on his wife. He said it’s cheaper, he‘s never lost a house gambling….
I’m just glad I don’t have any bad habits.
