Water pressure

When hooked up to outside water I don't have much pressure in the trailer. I have tried different regulators and that did'nt help. With the regulator on and the hose unhooked from the trailer there is plenty of pressure. When hooked up there is very little pressure. When i turn the pump on there is still very little pressure but if I turn of the outside water and run pump only the pressure is OK. Why no pressure with out side water? any suggestions?
Thanks

Do you use a water filter, I noticed on my last trip low water pressure, I removed the regulator and filter, and the pressure was okay. Don't know which was causing the low pressure, but there was not great pressure to begin with at the tap. I stay at a small RV park in Montana that has low water pressure I never use a regulator, I don't know if this good or bad ,but I shut the water off when I am gone.

Sounds like your check valve in the fresh water line. If you tell us what type unit you have someone might be able to tell you the location of the valve.

We had this problem as well and I took off the screen on each faucet and it was loaded with junk. After cleaning replaced the screen and the water pressure was fine.

Do you have a way of measuring the pressure before and after the regulator? I have found that the typical regulator that you purchase at campgrounds and camping stores just do not regulate very well. I went to a hardware store and bought a Watts adjustable regulator, set it for 45 pounds, and have had no further problems with low water pressure unless it was at the source. Also at the hardware store you can buy a cheap gauge that will hook to the faucet (use a Y adapter) and then read what the pressure is at the faucet and then again through the regulator with an in line gauge.

Good luck.
