Care free sunshade

Does anyone have the Carefree sunshade installed on their rear window? Does it have to be 3 inches longer than the window? The 3 extra inches makes it a special order. Also how does it work keeping the sun out and rv cooler?

I have one and it is even with the outside edge of the window frames if it was three inches bigger it weouldent fit in the rear cap. as for cooling it does OK to a point sometimes on temps reaching the 100's I install that reflective instalation from Home Depot the 4' wide by 7' long fits in there perfectly you just cant see out. but I would buy it again if I have to. I will be buying Carefree of Colarado's full fiew awnings for the other windows at Q-site next year.

We have had a sunshade since the coach was new and wouldn't be without it. We winter in Texas and the rear window faced south and kept the heat out without using the day/night shades. My opinion, get the black. The size: Ours just covers the window.

We also have the carefree back window shade on our 3400 and love it. We face towards the setting sun at our winter home base and it really helps to keep out the heat and glare on the TV screen. We use our awning rod to pull it down so you dont even have to use a ladder. Enjoy your travels. Teresa

Also have one and we absolutely love it.
In Florida our rear window faces south and we do get that hot Florida sun all winter. Being kicked back in my recliner, prior to the shade, my head felt like it was in an oven. The shade made a world of difference. I am even considering 2 smaller ones for the street side which gets the late afternoon and evening sun.
As far as length, mine is factory stock and fits perfectly. 3"s longer and it would not fit BUT not every Montana has the same size rear window. We have the 3485SA and I am sure it's the same size window as the 3400RL but not 100% on the other RL models.

I did not pay for the special order to get that extra 3 inches and on my 3400RL it works great.

We have the sunshade also and really like it. Unfortunately, we were told we would have to special order one also. The dealer said the standard 72" model was the length of the tube and the fabric would not cover the window completely unless we special ordered. When it came in, I measured the fabric and it was 72" and the tube was about 75". Not sure if we got taken or not, but it really does the job. Not only dors it block out the sun but it acts as a privacy curtain also as you cannot see in while it is up, no problem seeing out though. I do not have any pictures, but someone else had some, you might try a search. We installed ours ourselves and would buy another if we ever get a new rig.

We have one. It works great! Our first order came with a damaged roller that was warped. It was difficult to role down and would not roll up. Carefree replaced and we are happy with the product.

So does the standard fit the window or will the fabric be 3 inches short. I have the 3475rl. It should be the same rear window as the 3400rl.
