Update on rear hitch from factory!

Bummer, as of Tuesday the 13th, Keystone parts department is NOT offering the rear hitch as a replacement part. Our dealer could not order the hitch from them to install on our Montana.
The class 3 that our dealer is offering is looking better and better.

Steve...The hitch that is a option of the Jayco designer is a "hidden hitch" and will fit the Montana.. I may have the local Jayco dealer install the hitch on my Montana..What a revolting development that is...

John, my dealer is 5 miles from my house(Keystone dealer) and Ozz just might be a little farther. The photos might help the person putting it on for me though!
Rich, I'm not very sure where our closest Jayco dealer is, I think I'll stick locally!
If the diesel prices, another thread don't want to go there, keep going up, I may have to ride my bicycles to a permanent site!

Fortunatly the Jayco Dealer is local, just 5 miles down the road. The hidden hitch that Jayco uses is "off the shelf"Because of the rear cap on the Montana modifications need to be made. I was hoping that Keystome would at least share with us what they did to make the hitch fit properly. I heard a Montana rep mention....Frame extension?? It would be nice if they let us know how they did it instead of us having to guess??? We will have one installed..Montana's help or not..

Rich & Helen... We had a hitch for the bike rack fabricated and hubby installed it himself. We looked at the Hidden Hitch before making our own. We will be in Gettysburg site #67 for the Ralley if you want to check it out. Works great. Did have to make an adjustment to the underbelly. Please feel free to check it out anytime. See you at the Ralley.

We completed the show n tell and it is one of the items on our sheet. I also talked to the hubby about the under carriage, he said he only had to put two small holes in the undercarrage for the bolts and then put caps on to cover the holes. Can not even tell anything was done to it. Looking forward to seeing you at the rally.

Keep us all posted Rich. I've got the belly open right now and will add hitch very soon. Want to insulate and protect the wires a bit more while I'm in there. The fresh water fill hose had rotted away and was leaking.
