Sorry to hear about the old coconut, Rich. Since those noodles are in season, I wonder what the limit and daily possession is. I need some for the bedroom slide - that's my nemesis.

When noodling slides try not to forget to take them off before pulling in the slides. They aren't very hard but they can flex that 6 or 8 inch lip on the slide and start it cracking. I drew my slides in twice with the noodles in place and they didn't crack anything but Betsy cracked on my stupidity so I won't forget them again anytime soon. The tongue lashing is worse that the grooved scalp. "you break my Big Sky and you will wish you tore your head off" yada yada yada... Dave and Betsy

So Rich, was Helen impressed that you were able to fight off those 5 convicts with only one minor wound? Hmmmmm?

Rich, sorry to hear about your mishap. I will check on you tomorrow. I have had several near misses. Time to quit procrastinating. I'll head to Home Depot this week. I use those gray pipe insulators. 4 ft sections.

Rich,
Now that you are thinking more clearly, it would be a good time to come up with that retractable king pin hitch.
After all, big jumbo jets land on retractable landing gears, don't they?
Never mind! Just another one of my thoughts that will make someone else money!!!!

Wayman said.....Rich,

We had the tripod hitch pin stand up all winter which keeps you away from the front of the camper but I removed it in anticipation of our departure and immediately there after broke my head. The value of the tripod stand to eliminate wiggle is debatable but its value in preventing head dents has been verified.

IF you had a tripod under your hitch you won't hit your head on it you have to walk around the tri-pod john

I was walking though Wally-Mart the other day and saw noodles on sale. I stopped and looked at them and as macho guys of course think, people that do not watch where they are walking bang into slides and hitch pins. I do not need such simple stuff like that.
Now i read about one of the most experianced, level headed, watchfull owners on the MOC putting a grove in his skull.
I may an ole dog but i can still learn real fast from the masters, so guess where i am off to in the morning. Wally-World and some noodles.
Thank you Rich for an important lesson, althought i wish you had not had to go though that to protect others like myself in the future.

I put lights on a rope on the ground around the front of the 5th wheel. It reminds me not to go beyond the rope ro bad things can/do happen.
It also looks good at night and gives a boundry thats easy to see.
So far no blood shed yet.

Rich, Glad to help. Also we put lights on a rope on a timer. Don't have to remember to turn on and off.
Hope this helps.

What Rich failed to mention is that we have 3 1/2 noodles already in the camper (being used to keep Dusty from getting down off her cage and attacking him). In a pinch, he could use one of those until we get to a store to buy a replacement. He is allergic to anything pointy or sharp. I tried to encourage him into a hobby by joining the woodcarvers group at Mouse Mountain but he whined about "probably cut off a thumb or something". The group told him to bring plenty of bandaids and your insurance card. He still declined but I whittled a mouse (not the Mickey kind) and a snowman and was working on a combo piece (half jackass head and half hummingbird... interesting piece) when we left.
I almost bought the terrorist story until I noticed no scars on the hands... fibs will get you in hot water, boy! Just admit it... you be absent minded and allergic to pointy things.

Rich, How well I feel your pain. A few years back I did the same thing, only I had three metal staples in my head for a while. Know how you feel
