OKKK, here's my take on the list (which is rather good, but we each get to personalize it! )

60 gallons fresh water, change that number

rarely 25 gallons in holding tanks, usually much less

50 cans of canned food, well, if ya count the barkers food, OK, but for the people, nope, wayyyy toooooo high

Books and magazines, close, I think I have more when I add in my research books.

Comuter and supplies, I hope it is only 60 pounds.

shoes, WHO ARE THEY KIDDING??? he might get 8 pair, I get MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charcoal equipment, we carry LOT less than that, little propane grill, a few small bottles of propane, I get to take more books now, to make up the 60 pounds

Tools 60 pounds?? HA HA HA, ROTFLM you know what OFF!! Think he has more weight in tools than I do in books!

Think the silverware and dishes and pots and pans could be low number too.

Great thing bout these lists is they really make ya think, I believe a ladies sweater weighs about 2 pounds???

Great post.

Beer..............25 pounds!!!! Get real. That is only 18 bottles of Molsons Canadian and who would ever head out with only 18 bottles of beer? Not me, and what about the red wine and the white wine and the hard stuff?
These figures are way too light for me.

I don't think you are too far off average rver's weight. We were thinking about going back to a class A or a Super C and when we weighed the truck and the Monty, we figured out we were carrying about that much and we would have had to add 3 people and a big dog to that amount which would have put us at over 3k lbs. The Super C was out and so were the gas class A's and we did not want to go back to a DP so we decided to keep or Monty. Got most of the bugs worked out and over all it is a great rv. I don't think most people really know how much they are really carrying on. I had someone on rv.net saying that they full time with about 1000 lbs. I think he was in the sun too long! LOL

Think the weight figure is very close to correct. Some of the stuff may vary. We do not drink beer but never leave home without at least two cases of good wine.

Now Rich, with a statement like that, Helen and you know how to travel right. One of the things we like best about US living is that decent wines are still affordable. Up here in Taxland, a good bottle of wine can cost you a small fortune and that is why so many Canadians make our own wine.
This is another reason why my folks spend 5 months a year in Arizona. One of our Provinces, Alberta, is now getting competitive booze prices and we stock up when we are there.

We visited some Colorado Wineries while out here now have Co wine on the table. The Great lakes regions produce some of the finest wine around and we do that tour every year....Makes for a great camping trip.We did note while in Canada that the prices were sort of high.

I thought the number close and then I got out the calculator. Assuming the shipping UVW on our rig is accurate, and we all know it's probably low, then we're carrying 2,720 lbs. I don't think the UVW accounts for the high gloss, though.

get the unit weighed empty at a cat scale in a truck stop foe $8.50 for the 1st wet and 1.00 after that so weigh the axels seperatre and the unhook the truck to get it perfect as on a cat scale you can get them all in 1 stop john

Don't know of many folks who travel with 50 gal of fresh water..maybe 10-15 is more realistic. Also, most folks dump the black and grey/galley tanks before hitting the road..maybe 3-4 gal in the black tank to assist in "fluidification" (yes, I invented that word just now). So, I figure that you can deduct about 550-600 lbs from the 2374 total.

When we weekended/vacationed, what PJ says was true for us. But as fulltimers we carry 40 to 50 gallons of freshwater and refill when it gets low. We dump the black tank when it's full or nearly full so carry partially full black tank with us, too. Gray tanks we pretty much do the same although if we have a hookup I may dump a nearly full gray tank before we hit the road. When overnighting we often do not hook up to sewer or don't have a sewer connection and rarely use the dump station.
