Actually - My 2006 didn't come with a heated tailgate option, but I do have AAA

BSmeaton,Sorry to see that you had to be towed in, I believe the newer 6.0 PSDs are more reliable than the 03 and 04's and I hope you have reliable service from here on in.

Don,

My 6.0 runs great! It just likes diesel better than Gasoline!

bsmeaton, that one does not pertain to an individual manufacture. That one could happen to any brand!

Now I remember your fuel mix up. After driving diesels for 11 years, I was worried I might have a brain fade and reach for the yellow nozzle some day. So far I have caught myself but it is easy to do and one of the reasons the rental diesels have a big sign beside the fuel fill door.

Yep, can't throw any blame on Ford for that one - That was a Bradley error. Fortunately I figured out what I did before I ever reached for the keys, so nothing got pumped into the fuel system.

Believe me, short of painting the whole left fender Green, I think twice before fueling up now to remember which car I have.

Just thought it tied into the heated tailgate thing pretty well.

Brad, been there done that. That is something that happens to the best of us who own mixed fuel burners. Just glad you didn't fire er' off.

I saw a gasoline pump with a green handle once. I thought I was putting diesel in!

I am glad to see this thread is all in fun and not going into a brand war.

Tom41 has a good idea. Put the tailgate down and it is a grill for those tailgate parties. I like that idea. Maybe open one side and it is a cooler full of ice too.

We have the same problem with airplanes burning jet fuel or aviation gas. When refueled incorrectly, the jet will burn and run on anything, the recip engine will burn the gas in it's fuel lines, but quits once it gets to the jet fuel in the tank...that engine failure is usually right after take off.
