We're in Tok.....bumpity, bumpity, bump

After six hours of bumpy roads, we parked in our favorite boondocking site last night, about eight miles east of Tok. There are always 3 or 4 others there which gives us a feeling of security. Of course, we have our 'guard' dog (LOL).

We got a wonderful view of the snow covered Wrangell Mts. They are spectacular. Hopefully, our pictures turned out. Otherwise there is not much to report on the Glenn Hwy. We will cross into Canada today, just 100 miles down the road. We drove back to Tok to call our daughter for a report on hurricane conditions at our house in Montgomery, AL. We got a good report. Thank you, Lord. We have been praying for those in the storm's path, that they will make wise decisions and seek safety.

Things have changed since we were here last month. The greenery is starting to turn beautiful shades of yellow and gold. The crowds are definitely smaller. The days are much shorter, like five hours shorter, so it is actually dark at night. And we're much less concerned about crossing the border.

By the way, boondocking is so easy in the Monty. Just be sure you have a percolator to make coffee in the morning. See ya down the road.

We are getting close to the Canadian border and stopped at a gas station that is the last stop for people wanting to pay United States prices for diesel. There were six RVs here at one time. The diesel is $2.72 per gallon. We've seen a beautiful but distant view of the Wrangell Mountains, which are snow covered and beautiful. We plan to drive down the Cassiar Highway to Prince George. Reports on the conditions vary but as long as we take it slow, we'll be okay. More later.

Thanks so much, Vicki. We are in Whitehorse and starting south to see the sights of Skagway and Haines. The cruise ships stop here so there are lots of galleries and gift shops. Should be fun.

We drove through some of the worst construction but it's not nearly as impressive after all the bumps that we've driven through. I guess one even gets used to bumps. The dust was so thick that we could barely see the motorhome about 30 yards ahead of us. But it was damp from a light rain last night and not the mudbath that we experienced last month. So we were thankful.

Judy, So glad that your Alabama home is OK, I for one can not wait to see some of the pictures that you have took. The ones that you have posted are great.
