Mountaineer hitch pin weight

I'm thinking of buying an '05 Mountaineer 348RLS..I'm a bit nervous about the rated pin weight of 2,200 lbs because my TV is a 2002 Silverado 2500 crew cab duramax/allison. Anyone having any good or bad experience with this combination or equivalent 3/4 ton TV?

You should not have a problem. My 3295RK has a rated hitch weight of 2300# and I pull it fine with an F-250 PSD. I did have to add air bags to the rear of the truck to bring it to level when hooked up. There are several members here on the forum that are using 3/4 ton trucks to pull their rig.

Thanks, I appreciate the information...I currently pull a 5er rated at 1850 hitch weight without any problem but didn't want to overload the truck.

Our 3295RK has an actual scaled pinweight of 3,300 lbs and we tow it with a 3/4 ton Ford. Your truck should do fine. It's possible the pinweight will cause some rear end sag but airbags will fix that. The bags do not add to the ratings but will level the rig. There are a lot of our members doing exactly what you propose to do. Enjoy the new Mountaineer. They are beautiful outfits.

We go a bit over 2K, as well, and our Chevy 3/4-ton gasser (non-dually) does a great job. Back end stands up nicely and tows like a dream under load.
