For the curious, dishwasher and cooktop details
We have discussed the unique modification that Larry and his top-notch service department we are having done to the 3850FL. For those that are detail oriented, I thought I would post a couple pics of what we are hoping to have installed in place of the range/oven combination. Here is something that should be similiar to what we are looking at:

Wedgewood Vision Cooktop:
Cooktop is 21" wide, the same size and model of the existing cooktop that comes atop the oven in the newer models, but will be stainless steel. Dishdrawer is 24" wide and will sit immediately beneath the cooktop and is likewise a stainless steel finish. Stepping out on a limb here, but Larry has assured us his people are up to the task and are actually eager to attempt an unconventional project for a change.
Granted, this may not be an ideal modification for those who boondock due to eliminating the propane oven from the mix. The research I have done shows the dishdrawer only uses 2-3 gallons of water per cycle, which to me is astonishing!

It looks well thought out and I agree remarkably efficient. I am not sure I would give up our gas oven as I prefer it over the convection and honestly we just do not have that many dishes. Keep us posted on how it works out.

The only reason it works for us is we realized that we had used the propane oven one time in the past year and that was for Thansgiving dinner. Dw loves the convection oven and uses it all the time. Never have figured out why we always have dishes in the sink, probably something to do with daughters who tend to get lazy when camping! Lol!

At first blush I didn't think it was a great idea. As I think about, I would guess you would use the dishwasher far more than the oven. I agree about the convection. I have found that I use the convection oven more and more. Thanks for the great idea.

I have that dishwasher in my coach and it works very, very well. Total water consumption is approx 4 gallons.

I never use the gas oven as it is to much of a PITA to light and we like the convection micro better. I would give it up for more storage. We subscribe to the paper plate and plastic utensil method of doing dishes. I'm not a tree hugger. If I used real dishes I would try the dishwasher as you are. Hope it works out to your satisfaction.

I have yet to figure out a way to eat steak on a paper plate without having to eat shredded paper as well. Steamed and boiled seafood as well as pasta also do not do well on paper plates. We use paper plates all we can, but I would guess about half the time we are using the regular plates and always use non-paper cups and utensils. Don't lose focus on the primary reason for the dishwasher. Momma likes a dishwasher and if that is what Momma wants..........
