Did the fish boil last night. OMG!! What an experience! Pretty darn good eatin', too. Got the 'taters, onion, slaw and cherry pie to go along with it. OH yah, I had to have the optional scoop of ice cream on the cherry pie!! That's just the way I roll. 2 thumbs up! Now, if a charter fishing captain comes thru for later this afternoon, that will make the trip to the Door complete.

Dale, are you going for Walleye or Salmon? Good luck on the fishing front. Door County has some great bass and walleye fishing. Not sure how they do up there on lake trout and salmon. Walleye is great for eating, one of our favorites. You'll have to give us a report.

Dale and Gail, congratulations to you two! If I may offer a small piece of advice for you, be sure you do a LOT of those 3 or 4 days here and there. And even a week. Or a month. Or two months. Remember to take days for laundry, for cleaning, for other chores, as well as for sightseeing. And remember to take days to just be retired. Don't stay in "vacation mode" or you'll burn out.

Sounds like you're having a great time! Enjoy and keep us up on where you are and what you are doing! Hopefully we'll see you two again one of these days, somewhere on the road.

Steve, I have already learned most of that from you and numerous others in this forum. It is working great so far! We will be headed back to Goshen early tomorrow, Tuesday 7/2/13.

Now for my fish story.

Captain Paul Goodman took me out on the Mariner northeast of Gills Rock, WI on the Lake Michigan side of the Door. We fished in 100 feet of water at a depth of about 60. Caught a 17 pound King Salman. His scaly butt is cut into steaks and in the freezer right now! Going out again today with another charter from Baileys Harbor called the Silver Strike. Since we are 10 or 12 miles south of were I was yesterday, perhaps Walleye may end up in the freezer. Or, Brown or, Lake Trout. Heck, I'll take any of 'em.

As I said before, God and life is good!!

Sounds like you guys have the fishing part well under control! Please let me know if you need any help with the wine tasting part.

Btw, the wife and I begin our first retirement trip in a couple weeks, gonna stay out awhile.

OK gang, just a quick update. I did go out on the Silver Strike on Monday afternoon. Fishing was not good until......the sun set behind the Door!! There was 5 of us on this charter. A 14 year old and his grandfather, a married couple and my self. The sun was down and it was dusk. Then, all hell broke loose. We landed 3 King Salmons within about 1/2 hour. So, as it turned out very neatly, the grandson landed a 10 or 12 pounder, the woman of the married couple landed a 20 pounder and I brought in a 10 to 12 pounder, also. I have salmon steaks enough to last us awhile since I caught 2 within a 24 hour period.

We left Baileys Cove Campground at 10:30 Tuesday morning and pulled up in front of the house her in Goshen at 6:45 PM. Thus, ended a GREAT first retirement trip!! Now, to get caught up on some work around this place and head over to Twine Mills for the week end.

Glad to hear you had a great first trip. Are you coming out to the CPRR? Hope you can make it.

Gail and I had talked back in the late winter about getting there. But, due to some changes in plans way back in April or May, we're not going to be able to get there. We hope that perhaps next year, we can make plans to attend a couple rallies or so. We are still just trying to get settle completely on the new house, the veggie garden and regular monthly retirement income......if you know what I mean?
