Am I only guy who puts out cones?

My wife teases me, but I purchased 5 Yellow Cones like contractors use. I put caution tape on the tops and half down to bottom. I use them a lot. People ask me about them and I think they laugh. Especially deploy them if my slides, backside of trailer or front seems sticking out or in some way not readily visible. Our 3750 has front slides that can be dangerous at night. I have placed cones below slides to warn people. I put a line of them down the street when I park out front of house. I have seen many close calls over the years and think its prudent. So am crazy? Weird, over thinking it... Be real! Lol Yes, I have put them around my truck when illegally parked! I admit it... Lol it works!

I put a swim noodle on the corners of the bedroom slide. The more visibility the better. It saves a trip to the emergency room.

Michael I don't think you can ever be too safe. There's a reason work trucks are often required to use cones, why not RVers? I was camping with my brother one time and this guy comes barreling in the campground, whips in around my brothers site and clips his Suburban with their trailer. Maybe cones would have helped, maybe not, but could have. He found out the guy had already clipped a gas station island too. Somebody needed to slow down and get used to their trailer towing!

As for slides, I've hear of people using the pre-cut ones at the home stores. I like you prefer the swim noodles because you can get the really bright flourescent colors that stand out a lot more than the black ones.

I learned the hard way and put the swim noodles on my slides as well and they do work.

I carry several cones in my truck, guess it's the phone man in me.... Espcially use them in Walmart parking lots when I stop overnite or when I have it parked on the street in front of the house. Sometimes I think these nuts like to see just how close they can get till they got to turn. My cones I just picked up along the hwy over the years lol lol no not at work sites but the once that bounced off of trucks.

Have to admit, I have seen lots of swim noodles on slides, but dont recall cones!

I carry 2 traffic cones, 3' tall each with reflective tape. If we are sticking out I will place one of the cones back there. Also use them in the Wal-Mart parking lot if the slides are pushed out. Always try to park 1 side of the rig against a curb and use the cones on the other side.

At the house while loading/unloading/cleaning and the slides on the street side are pushed out, one of us will stand there while the slides are out but we also have the cones out.

We do have the orange small traffic cones. We use them primarily as reference points when we back off out street into the driveway.

Use the swim noodles on the slides, but have intended to get a couple of cones for when we overnite in a parking lot. Usually pull up to the curb and just put the bedroom slide out over the grass, but have been worried about someone not seeing the steps out and hitting them.

Whew, I thought it was just me. I bought some cones to put out around the Monty while it was parked out in front of the house, but decided to just store them in the basement to take with. Already got the Noodle Noodles too. Never be to safe. Umbrella policies are sold for a reason

Me too on the swim noodles, without them I'd be all scarred over already. I have 4 small cones that I use to help me line up into our covered storage slot.

I also have a few 3' orange cones that I carry with me for the reasons stated above. Better to be safe than sorry...

I have two small orange cones for helping me guide into tight spaces to help me gauge things (and a flashlight inside them when it's dark). If the cones make you feel better and safer, don't worry about what others say.

I use the small cones, then when I am set up and parked I put them away. I would be more worried about the larger ones being stolen than whether they are being used in the first place.

I recently got a swim noodle for the slideout but we haven't used the rig so we haven't "gone live" with it, yet. But I can certainly tell you I won't miss the knocks in the head.

I do have a "flagman" but I prefer she keeps me supplied with cold drinks and not confuse me with her signals or my inability to understand them. The term we use is "flagperson with refreshments".

Personally prefer the waffle cones, particularly when they are just baked, but regular cones are fine also. In Kansas KDOT uses women as flag persons also. I'd be all for that, but Joyce would probably object.

No you are not nuts, I put cones out as well to keep those who text and walk or drive on the ball (yeah, good luck!)

There are enough bumbleheads out there that don't pay attention on a normal day to day stuff so do you think they will see something sticking when it might not normally be there?

I have even thought about putting white reflective tape used on trailers and tractors on the bottom edge of the slides when they are out as an added protection.

DOT red/white reflecting tape strips along both sides of the Monty, plus reflectors front (orange) and back (red) on the slides. One big cone on the street if we're sticking out.
