Prowler Regal AX6 Front Kitchen

Several months ago, someone mentioned the **new** front kitchen model put out by Fleetwood's Prowler Regal line. Stopped in yesterday while in Mesa AZ on our way back to San Marcos CA (yeah, a bit out of the way when leaving out of Bisbee) to check one out. Bottom line: really cruddy quality. Cabinet finishes did not match; the pull-out shelf/tray under the microwave was so flimsy, a bag of microwave popcorn would have collapsed it. The basement storage areas were had very small access hatches, which by the way, did not fit well. The carpet was really cheap. The wall coverings looked like contact paper and some of the edges were starting to roll/peel. No black tank flush. Living room was small. There was a two door "cabinet" behind the rocker and the shelves were maybe 3" deep---have no idea what you could put in them---too small for books! The DVD player was not secured and just slid all over the place. The antenna hookups were to the left of the TV and I could not get my hand between the TV & the connectors to attach satellite cables nor could I reach in and turn on/off the booster button. Some good points however, was the storage capacities in the kitchen & area adjacent to the toilet room. There was both a lockable/latchable pocket door between the living room and the bathroom and a "regular" door between the bedroom & the bath area. The area set-up for the washer/dryer was adjacent to the toilet area which if my "eye-sight" was correct was almost centered ove the axles. There was also a large skinny clothing closet there as well. This unit had a King materess in it; so what should have been two nightstands on each side of the bed was wacked in half and looked rather useless to me---maybe 3 inches wide; 4 at the most. Clock radio would not even fit on it. The concept is really good, now if MONTANA were to come up with a similar unit and get the fit-n-finish up to decent standards, then we would consider trading off the FL for a FK. The "sticker price" was 58k & change---they had one listed for 62k as well---maybe for 62k you would get one that had cabinet doors with finishes that matched...!

Funny you mentioned looking at this model and have a 3685FL. We too looked at one and made some of the same discoveries you did about the AX6. decided the Montana was a better choice and haven't regretted it. We like to be different and if Montana would build one we would probably look at it in the future.
