The Awnings

Is it just me, or wouldn't it be nice if the awnings were about 50% more sturdy /tight ( for cleaning purposes) and if they had power tilt. I have a 2021 3120rl, I live in Oregon so there are times the weather isn't great when camping. Putting some tilt on the awnings requires me to pack a step ladder.

You're gonna have to take a number on that complaint...many have the same one. What I don't understand is why they put the awning that's more difficult to adjust on the higher end rigs. Our HC has a different adjustment. It has articulatimg arms that I just have to pull down. They can fold up to 90° which tilts the awning down quite a bit. They also auto-correct when I roll it back up. To me that's the better awning.

We replaced the one awning on our 2010 with the quality you and I would want. Cost us a grand. Keystone doesn't want to increse prices by a grand when many folks care about price more than quality.

We carry a 3 step step ladder with us anyway. We need it to reach the top cabinets in the kitchen.

I carry a 2 step for inside needs and a four step for outside needs and use them on a regular basis.

Same for us. I have one for outside and one for inside. I need the outside one to get in the back of my truck also, getting older and medical conditions!!

This is the solution I use to avoid taking a ladder.

No need for a ladder for the 2 Awnings ~~~ I use a boat hook to pull them down. Still need a 2 step for the hitch and filling aux fuel tank though AND a stoll for high inside cabinets. No chance of falling with a boat hook.

If you look in the package of manuals you got from the dealer, there will be at least one manual pull down thing. It's a black nylon strap with a white plastic round piece like a lollipop stick. Slide that into the groove, and let it wind up when you leave. You only need the ladder once to install it. I did it but found the wind blows it down to the end and then in the grass. One of these days I will figure out a way to make it stay put as near the middle as it can reach with the free end tied off where I can reach it.

I put some straps on mine that unfurl when the awning does so that I can pull them down when need be

Yep, those are the same as what was in our owners package when we took delivery.
