Splendide Washer smells
We have Splendide Washer an dryer installed in our Montana. We have noticed a mildew like smell coming from the washer. Anybody else had this happen and what did you do about it?
Thanks

Those low-suds types are prone to that, Sue had to deal with it, after you run a load, leave the door open so it can dry. But you might have to run a cleaning cycle first, she cleaned the washer with 1 cup baking soda and a little bleach with real hot water, she did it 3 times. Then remember to leave the door open after each wash for 20 minutes or so. Depending on the humidity level where you are living, that time varies.
Then.... don't run into the open door. Like I did...

We had that problem with the S&B. Tide does make stuff to run thru your washer once a month to clean and rid of odors. I use a combination of both the baking soda and Chorox every couple a weeks and then the Tide once a month or so.

We also had the problem with our LG unit in the S&B. We use "Tide Washing Machine cleaner" (very small Tide colored box usually on the top shelf or somewhere hard to find) when we need to, but with our Splendide I just leave the door open slightly and close the doors to the cabinet every time after I wash and with this summer being as dry as it's been haven't had to use the Tide all summer. The only time I completely close the door after a load is if we are moving the rig.

Ok, I don't have any doors in the front except the one where the soap goes in, where is the coin collector located?

No, but the cover doesn't want to come off and I've got enough other problems right now. I did find something on the mildew smell however. If you want a revelation, pull the first rubber flap at the bottom of the door and look at the amount of water sitting between it and the second rubber seal. I'm now using a cloth to wipe it out after doing the loads and it helps a lot.
