2021 Montana Legacy ACs won't start

I had my rig plugged into a 20Amp plug to keep the batteries charged and LED light working. Then we turned on one AC and the voltage read at 113v. My bother-in-law fired up his workshop planer and the RV lights went off and on repeatedly. I could hear the transfer swith going on and off. I unplugged from the 110V outlet and about 30 minutes later plugged back in. Now neither AC will fire up. What's happened?
What can I do?

With one AC, an electric planer, and what else is drawing power on a 20 amp circuit, you probably over loaded it. I assume you've checked all the circuit breakers...in the house (or where ever the shore power is), the coach and the AC.

Once you finally figure out what tripped, which is probably a breaker or GFI in the house since both A/C's are affected, you should also make a decision to purchase an EMS device, either a Progressive or the Surge Guard, which will protect your rig from low voltage in addition to the many other voltage issues that can damage electrical and electronic components in your rig.

Isn't that the truth. I have had more problem's (not now) with RV's on the Low Voltage side then I have had with AC high voltage side.

All the other commenters are correct. The factory installed surge protector only protects against surges, not against low voltage. Low voltage is what kills A/C units. Watts are a constant. Voltage goes down, amps go up, voltage goes up, amps go down. Hopefully, you didn’t fry the A/C unit. An EMS will cut the power off of the voltage drops to an unsafe level. I won’t go without one.

We pulled into D&W RV Park in Champaign, IL and I asked a camp host if there was a local on-site RV repairman. I explained my problem - 2 AC units that won't start. He said he had had the same problem and was told to disconnect all power including the batteries for 5 minutes; it worked for him. I tried it, then after waiting 5 minutes they started - all was well; both ACs work fine. Whew! dodged a bullet.

Glad that worked out in your favor. Now get an EMS before anything gets damaged & costs you a lot more than the price of the EMS.
