Let's see how smart you are

Hey all,

Being a truck driver you learn thing's on the road that are funny, smart, dumb, and stupid, but we all can get a laugh or 2 from it.

This is going to make you think a bit

You all know that there is a 3 hour deference from the west coast to the east coast. So if you were too look at the time 12 noon in the west it would be 3 pm in the east.

there are 2 states, one in the west and one in the east that are 1 hour apart from each other. These state's touch the Pacific ocean and the Atlantic ocean.

What are the names of these state's?

Western Florida is central time zone and eastern Oregon is mountain time zone. This puts them 1 hour apart.

Most people I’ve talked to are unaware of the fact that Florida spans two time zones.

But they are not states that are coast to coast, ocean to ocean Oregon's southeast corner is mountain time, Florida's panhandle is central time. They are the only 2 states that touch west and east coast waters

I understand your original question. Just donít know that most people are aware of how many states have split time zones. Almost caused me to miss a flight at Ft Bend, Indiana driving over from Valparaiso in my working years.

OH Ok I see what you are saying. sorry about that.. I have had that happen also with truck driving. I thought that I was in a 3 hour time zone when I was in a 2 hour time zone so I was an hour late for my delivery

I missed a flight out of Nashville due to the split time zone as I had been working in central TN barely into the eastern time zone that day. Nothing quite as unsettling as walking to your gate and the lights are all off and no people around. (I fly a lot for work so normally walk up to my gate just in time to board...) Ended up having to rent a car and drive about 7 hours overnight to NC to make my meeting the following morning. Ugh!! It happens though...

Did you know a couple small towns on the east end of California on the colorado river use arizona time zone. Arizona doesn't change there time but California does. Go figure.

Winterhaven is California. There is a parker az and a parker California. Both on the colorado river. Havasu az is right on the river, quartzite az is a good 30 miles from Colorado river.
