A/C ducts

We didn't like the look of the duct after cutting every other fin. So we ordered the adjustable fins and the direction of air can be changed too because it also rotates.

Can’t seem to find the answer to this question. How does one take these vent off to trim them down? Mine have the longer tube that sticks into the duct. I am interested in trimming this down as it makes perfect sense to get better air flow.

You will see 3 tab indentions on the perimeter, slip your fingers under the edge at those locations and pull. The stationary portion is held with screws that you will see when you pull off the louvered portion. I trimmed the tube to be flush with the interior of the vent.
