well what I did was remove the mirror and the glue behind it. mask off and sand that area, prime with black primer and spray a mirror finish paint on top several coats. Topped with clear coat UV protection and will be trimming it out with black pin stripping. Its not as reflective as a mirror but looks better and won't turn black LOL, don't use it anyway...

Until I read this thread I didn't realize it was for hooking up. I thought it was for when I ram my head into the pin I could check to see if I cut my head.

I think I'll go with putting some lettering on to make it appear useful.

I have never figured out how it is supposed to help me hitch up. I don't really see the hitch in it as I back up. I stopped trying to use it and rely on my beautiful DW to point the way.

Had to go out and look to see if we had one one our 13 3402.We do. We have never used it and it does not have black streaks. We had one on our 06 3400 and it was useless it
actually fell of the cap.The one on the 3402 is also useless.

Do you have the full body paint? Maybe that does not matter since all the front caps are painted. Mine still looks ok, but I'd rather take it off and not wait for it to go bad; as long as it is painted underneath.

Couple of possible solutions:

1. Trace around the existing POS then have a glass shop cut a replacement from a glass mirror and attach it right over the existing 'mirror; with a good 2 sided tape or even glue.

2. Buy a chunk of this mirrored plastic and again, attach with 2 sided tape or glue: https://www.amazon.com/Acrylic-Mirro.../dp/B01MXE417D

All you will get from Keystone (or any other RV mfr.) is more of the same

The mirror on our '14 HC343RL is still good (I think) but as another has said, only used when I check for leaking sticky red stuff after whanging my head on the BR slide or the king pin (which I did bloodily on the last and SOB)

I like the personalized lettering will have to look into that. Although mine is still in perfect condition. As with all of you I never use it for hookups. I can see my hitch in ht rear view mirror.

Yep one more excuse for the wife to pull out her Cricket! She already made a sign for the back so why not the front and that is such a handy spot for it.........

Just curious, is anyone even slightly surprised that Keystone would have an issue like this on every camper they make and choose not to address it? Speaks volumes if you ask me!!

Replaced with glass mirror

Ours went blurry as all do so I peeled it off then took to a glass& mirror shop then had mirror cut to same size then siliconed onto cap, we had it now 3 yrs and still clear an it makes hitching by myself so easy. I was worried on road damage but it sits well below the truck roof.

You'd think is this day and age Keystone could perfect a "mirror."
