Why High Country Montana?

Thanks for all your replies re my previous post. New questions. why did you choose the High Country over the regular Montana? Towing ratings, better gas mileage, floorplan? After "living" in it, what would you change, add? Does the air work well in the bedroom area?

We have the 313RE which is not being currently produced. We liked the floor plan, L shaped couch, and weight savings.

I would suggest changing the mattress and adding a low profile AC unit up front. With the gray gel coat on the outside, the inside warms up pretty quick in the Florida sun!

We also put the Mor/ryde heavy duty shackle and wet bolt kit on as well as Michelin XPS rib tires.

We liked the floor plan, we liked the weight, and after talking to others we liked the reviews. This HC has proven(so far) to be the best we have owned. What we didn't like was 1. The mattress is bad, replaced with a sleep number. 2. A lot of storage areas but the shelves spacing is rediculous and we added shelves to almost every area. 3. Installed LED thoughout the unit. 4. Microwave, currently having it removed and a 30" micro/convection installed(personal preference), all in all we love it and DW says "its a keeper" so there ya go.

Why? We liked the wight advantage. We started looking for smaller FW, but kept going back to bigger ones. (We have the 38' HC.) We did not want to get a huge truck, liked the floor plan, liked that it had washer/dryer connections, liked the Keystone product, etc.... Additionally, we had purchased before from the same dealer where we purchased the Monty, and we liked them.

As I mentioned, we live fulltime in ours - have since summer 2011. What would I change????? Well, one thing to note - we ordered ours with what we wanted - no fireplace, dining table and chairs, single door fridge, stuff we wanted. I would like a bigger refrigerator, but still place a higher priority on more pantry space, so that was a compromise. I'd love a dishwasher! We get about 11 mph when towing with our F250. Yes, the AC works well in the bedroom, but realize that you'll never find us in Florida or Arizona in July!

We also liked the weight advantage as it allows us to stay within the limitations of our TV. We purchased ours in the late fall so have not spent much time in it before winter. We liked the fireplace and the double door fridge. We are going to see how the single AC unit works and add a second one if required. We plan on doing full time in a couple years so we upgraded from a 2007 Cougar. We were concerned about the cable slides so we will see how that goes. Can't wait for spring to arrive!

WE have a 2011 323rl 36 ft we also liked the weight savings. love the floor plan and have been to colorada over the continental divide with it and camped a week above Silverthorne loved it, been to angastoria resivoir in the black hills south Dakota, haven't had much problem with the mattress, a/c is ok we put a ocelating fan in the bedroom to help. love the fireplace desk area. we also get about 11 towing ours, we weighed out at 10.240 lbs. loaded for a trim

I replaced my old Monty with a 343rl High Country (37') in May 2012. Have made several trips from Fl. to West Texas and from Fl. to Maine. Unit pulls fine, have had no problems and this unit is 5" longer than the old one and handles better. I got 12MPG with the previous Monty and the same with the HC. I had the dealer replace the factory ST tires with LT tires and I added a Progressive 50amp hardwired EMS with remote read out. I have about 15k on the trailer and all is well.
