Awning arm needs replacement

I have a 2018 3791 RD and the left awning arm has bent and needs replacement. I it possible to replace it without taking the whole awning down? it is a dometic awning. I will call them tomorrow but will probably get some low paid employee that does not know anything about installation.

Pucker up cause they won’t sell you just 1
Quoted me a pair so out came the rubber mallet. Living with a slight crease but all works.

A friend went through this last year and only thing he could come up with was a COMPLETE mounting rail/hardware kit. Instead he had one fabricated for much less he said.

Had to replace one on my rig, 2018 3120RL, found the arm in Portland Oregon. They sold one, no problem. I was parked next to a power pole. Ran the awning out to the pole and tied it onto the pole. Disconnected the arm. Removed the screws securing it to the body. Resealed the holes and reversed the process. Whole operation took me about 1 hour.

I was thinking if you cant find the piece you want maybe have it made. Some heavy gauge aluminum, rent a break (metal bending device available at home depot) and make one.
Maybe call a few RV repair places to see if they have any old ones they took off another RV and get a good arm from the old one?

Depending on which part of the awning arm is bent this fella may be able to help you with a good used part.. This is an example of just one part of the awning arm you could replace

I have bought many items off eBay for the last 20 plus years. I’d look at the link and then ask seller question if he has the item number you are looking for.

There are several RV surplus/salvage yards near Goshen, IN. we visited several when at the National Rally. They might be able to supply parts for awnings. Do a Google search for "RV salvage yards, Goshen, IN", they will pop up.

Just for grins try calling an RV Park that has long term stays. People leave behind all kinds of junk. There is a huge pile of complete awnings where people take them off and then leave them behind when they move here. The park has to put them some place so most have an RV junk yard full of free parts.

I had one bend up pretty badly when it got caught up in the door while I was frantically bringing it in during a sudden thunderstorm. I was told by most the whole side had to be replaced. I found the part number on it and found a replacement on Amazon and was able to replace it myself for about 1/3 the cost of a local rv repair shop. One thing you have to do is pin the roller so it doesn't unravel when you disconnect it from the arm. I hung the roller from the gutter with a bungy cord while I replaced the arm and reconnected everything. You don't have to pull the whole awning down.

Hey All, i cannot see where to start another thread so I am going to use this one. I have a 3791 and the awning stops just to the left of the door. This is a problem because when it rains and you go outside you will get wet. Has anyone install an awning just to the left of the breakfast room slide out?

this has been a problem for some time and keystone has never come up with a solution, ...wait for it... ( cause you`ll buy the camper anyway ) so I take a golf umbellar and push it up through the opening and open it, bungee cord the umbrella to the awning arm so it doesn`t fly away, not a 100% solution but the wife`s happy so that`s all that matters.

Same problem on our 3791RD. They put the dining room slide too close to the door to allow any way to mount the awning such that the door is covered. Poor design, but as stated above, we bought it anyway.

This has been my solution until I can find something better.
