We're In!
Hello All. We just joined because we are strongly considering a Montana 5th wheel. We have a 2003 GMC 2500hd D/A so that's half way Hopefully the members can give us some feedback on the brand and the lifestyle.

Welcome to the MOC Forum. This is a great place to learn about Montanas. The members who post on this forum will tell it like it is. Human nature causes us to complain more than compliment sometimes. Even when we complain, with rare exception, we love our Montys. If you read the postings often you will get "the good, the bad, and the ugly" without censureship. Keystone reads this forum and over time, responds to the criticisms in helpful ways. The synergistic problem solving capabilities of this group is truely phenomenal. Our belief is that you can't go wrong in purchasing a Montana.

Welcome aboard, Horst. You mentioned "the lifestyle" but I'm not sure if you are considering fulltiming, snowbirding for the winter, or weekending/vacationing. We have plenty of each of those in this forum so let us know what you are thinking and any questions you have.
As for the Montanas, Stiles said it well. We air our problems and complaints here but, like most things human, we don't often extol the virtues here unless asked. And since you asked.... we clearly feel the Montana offers the best bang for the buck in its price range. Montana has been the number one selling trailer in North America for the last four years. Any company can have a good year and top the charts for a year, maybe even two. But to keep the crown for four years straight, well, there must be a reason for that.
As Stiles said, a number of the improvements we've seen in the Montanas are a direct result of suggestions and problems aired in this forum. Keystone does not directly participate, nor do they own or sponser this forum, but they do read it. Several of us have had emails from them asking for further information on something we suggested. And at RV Shows the Keystone people have commented on things they've read here.
Bottom line for Vicki and me, is a great product for the price and a company who cares enough to be there when we need them. After all, they've figured out it helps them stay on top.
There are several good brands out there that would serve you well. But we, Vicki and I, feel we found a home with Montana. Don't hesitate to ask questions. There are no dumb questions in this forum.

Welcome to MOC. I'm sure you will find all kinds of helpful info here. We love our Mountaineer and really enjoy the friendly people on this forum. We are part-timers right now but hope to be fulltimers in the future. As stated above there are all kinds of RVers here and they are a helpful bunch. Enjoy the adventure of getting set up in a new RV.

Thanks very much for the quick replies. To answer the lifestyle question, we would start out slow with weekends as I am still working. It will be a few years before we can consider longer sojourns.

Welcome roehlerha to the MOC Family.
There isn't much that I can add that hasn't already been said accept to say that we too love our Monty.
We have been fulltiming since October of '03 and hopefully will continue to do so for many years to come and we will be doing it in our Montana.
Got questions?? Ask away as we are waiting to assist you.

Horst and Mary,
First we would like to welcome you to the MOC forum. As other posts have stated you will find a great deal of information on this forum and some wonderful folks who are willing to share experience. We spent two years researching and shopping for our unit. Previously we had motor homes but had decided we wanted to go with a unit with more room as we plan to spend longer periods of time in one spot. We are semi full time. We sold our home in GA upon retirement, kept our vacation home in the mountains of WV, and hit the road in our Montana. We are truly enjoying our 3295RK and have had very few minor problems. We have been thoroughly impressed with the customer service and concern shown by Keystone to the end consumer, even beyond the warranty period. Bottom line is we would buy another Montana in a minute! Good luck in your research and keep us posted on your decision,

Welcome - lots of nice folks and good information here. We just purchased our previously enjoyed Montana last fall, so we are just learning, but from what we have experienced so far, we are members of the "love our Montana!" club and are looking forward to many great adventures - starting this week. I am sure you will find the Montana that fits your needs.
