Slide-out Floor Extension

I have a 2014 3850FL Montana. Recently removed an L-shaped couch and replaced it with two loungers, but there is not enough area on the slide-out floor itself to support these two chairs properly. Removal also revealed a 6-inch gap between the main RV floor and slide-out floor. My thought is to lengthen the slide-out floor by about 30-inches. Of course, ensuring the the floor moves in and out with the slide-out flawlessly. The L-shaped couch, when the slide-out was in touched the other couch on the other slide-out. So, that is my reasoning about enlarging the floor area area of the slide-out.

Has anyone ever done something like this. And if so, what, if any, problems did you run into?

Thanks,

JR
