Funny down spout placement

Hey all, the time is upon me finally.... I went and looked at a 2021 Montana 3120RL fell in love and put a deposit on it.
One question, this will be my first 5th wheel... While walking around it, I noticed on the dining room slide, the downspout for the gutter spills out literally right at the front steps, have any of you had issues with this while camping in less favorable weather?

Thanks
Jer

down spout on gutter rail

This is an interesting subject. On several occasions I've had Montana owners say that downspout placement is less than desirable.

But when I ask for how they would divert the water better or different, there seems to be no good answer.

If the downspout isn't there, the rain water from that gutter rail will go directly on to the top of the slideout or run down the sidewall (causing more streaks).

I'm not sure Montana owners would want the water to be placed on the slide out roof, to then run down the slideout endwall. I've seen other brands do this only to have problems down the road.

I'd love to hear some solutions that are thought out and feasible.

How are these spouts mounted? Glued under the rail maybe? Need to replace one

Hmmm? Where is this downspout? I have one at the front and the rear of the trailer, none by the door. Do they build these differently from unit to unit? I have a 2021 3121RL also.

I am not thrilled about the awning being right at the edge of the door, but understand that with the slide so close to the door, it just comes with the territory. They had to mount the slide topper a little further back than ideal too because there is about a 1/2” between the awning arm and topper hardware when extending and retracting. Is what it is. But I wouldn’t be happy if a gutter was pouring down by the door.
Maybe my slide topper eliminates that problem?

I have one at the door. Haven't really worried too much about it. The one I need to replace is at the rear.

Well I dont have any solutions since this is my first Montana and it's only been out 3 times but... thank you Sam for asking the Montana community for input and making yourself available! You were amazing in helping to solve my Issue. I did just check gutter and see that it ends close to the steps and has a bit of an angle that would project the water stream towards the steps in a heavy down pour. Perhaps soften the angle?

Can you post a picture?
I've never seen one that has the gutter spout in the middle of the rig.

I have the same thing and it's never been a problem. I wouldn't recommend NOT having it.

That's the gutter at the top of the slide topper rail. We don't have a topper but we do have those same gutter spouts right above the step. It has never been a problem for us since, for the most part, there isn't high volume of water in that gutter. When it's raining hard, the larger issue is the lack of good awning coverage over the steps so it becomes moot. I have heard of some that do remove that spout and block that end of the gutter since it has a duplicate at the other end.

I’ve never noticed any water spewing for that spout during any rain events

Interesting...
I have slide toppers. The one for that slide is anchored in that channel. No gutter on the end.
However, none of the slide topper anchor rails is mounted high enough on the wall. They pool water. The one over the dining room, once enough water pools, dumps like a waterfall on the steps.
After that it just runs down the window by the door steps. I'm thinking about putting a lip on the topper using 4" gorilla tape so it goes out and not run down the window.
