Just close the door when your done like Lynwood said! Don't need to leave it open anyway. Just like mom use to say shot the door were you born in a barn.

They did fix it for the 2019 3791RD. It’s now around the corner in the cabinet.

Yep I heard my mother say that many times. The next time I didn’t close the door I got my ass busted. Then I could remembe.

Yep nothing like a little pain to imprint the brain cells. But that imprinting needs to start at an early age. Well for me at least.

Just saying.

There was a thread on the Montana Facebook group about the famous cabinet door which covers the control panel, and how people are always hitting their heads on it. You open the door to access the controls, and then maybe forget to close it, and then hit your head on it as you go up the stairs. I think most of us have done this.

People post their "fixes", which includes putting the door on a track so it slides sideways to open, hanging something on the door of the cabinet as a reminder, or making the door smaller so it covers the upper cabinet, leaving the control panel exposed. It is the latter fix that we applied.

Perhaps Keystone should make a design change here. This is such a common problem, and has been going on for several years. Check to see what other manufacturers do about this issue. Maybe install a rolling door, like the old roll top desks is the answer. Perhaps relocating the control panel is an option. There must be a better way!
Had the same problem with our 2018 310RE HC. We ordered a matching cabinet door 18" x 18" and a piece of smoked glass 14" x 14". The shorter cabinet door covers the upper area (no more head banging) but leaves the control panel exposed. We were looking for a solution that appeared "it came from the factory that way". Before we could install it (and after numerous problems) we traded the HC in on a new Fifth Wheel. Now I have a cabinet door and piece of glass I would love to part with for a small fee. Let me know if anyone is interested

Put your right hand on the offending door, now your left hand round the corner in front of you. Your left hand will be touching the high cabinet door. The controls on the 2019 are behind this door.

You loose some storage, but stop the headache.

After hitting my old head more than once I took a short piece of lightweight Orange cargo strap and tied it to the handle and so far so good. Also took another piece of that strap and I hang it from the crank up tv antenna so I remember to crank it down before traveling. Maybe keystone could offer opional hard hats ha,ha. Happy rving all

I would think after just one noggin knock a person would figure the door needs to be closed after use.

Only did it twice. That's all I could take with our 331RL.

I used a small bungee purchased at Lowes and attached it to the side wall of the cabinet and the door. It has just enough tension that it pulls the door closed when I release it.

No more bleeding skull!

That will work and you can put the door back on. It’s your camper if you wont an exposed control panel there is nothing wrong with that.

I am the one who did the slide door over a year ago. It's really a cheap mod. Works well. The wood blocks have been stained the color of the interior and looks like it was made that way.
