Locally, there is one detailer - $28 to $33 a foot for wash, wax and vacuum the interior. Not about to pay over 1000 bucks for a simple wax job when I still have decent physical conditions at over 70 years of age. Those that have physical problems - I see your point as it is tiring with over 1000 square feet needing a shine.

My guy charges $10.00 a foot so $400 for wash and wax. Course this is Arizona not N.Y. or Ca.

For $400 I would consider having it done

The instructions that came with my replacements graphics say to not wax over unless the wax contains no petroleum or silicon distillates.

Hope to have the roadside done over the weekend then off to consignment. These rigs look great with new graphics like when we bought them! My only real complaint.

I would post the document and progress pictures if this site was bit more photo friendly. After 10+ years since I first signed on you would think the site would have upgraded to the point you did not have to host pictures and docs on third party sites with links.

Waxing trailer

I am 69. I do a section at a time. When I go to Yuma again I will have them do it again.

There is no requirement to use a 3rd party hosting site for pictures. In fact it is discouraged as more and more 3rd party sites want you to pay for the hosting. Uploading pictures to the MOC, where they won't disappear, is easy. Go to http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=70323 and read posts #8, #19 & #25 which should tell you everything you need to know about photos.

I know I have nothing but time on my hands but I don't mind paying $400.00 to have the rv washed and waxed. My wife pays $100.00 to have the house partially cleaned once a month and $150.00 to have it all cleaned 2 weeks later for a total of $250.00 per month. I wash my rv and completely clean the inside each time we use it so $400.00 per year for a wash and wax sounds better all the time.

Agree! Once I figured it out, actually easier to use the site's (vBulletin's, that is) iincluded system of posting pictures. When Photobucket changed their policy to ripping you off dollar wise, I lost literally hundreds of photos on a car build that could help others on another site. Never again. I have deleted 100% of that Photobucket from my system.

At 55+ years old..washing and waxing a 40' 5th wheel..no thanks. This is only my opinion but to me it's not worth it. Too physically demanding and risk of getting seriously or permanent injury by falling off ladder or ladder tipping over, falling off wet soapy roof.
I've known and met several people who thought it was easy. Yeah..washing it is the easy part. Then they started waxing it..They did about 1/4 and said screw this and gave up..Paying $500+ to have it done is money well spent....IMHO...

I'm 57, in pretty decent shape,I can wash and wax the camper and truck in one day, including the roof and still feel pretty good when done. A lot has to do with your physical condition, I'm a contractor, always moving, do 150 push ups a day it's my choice to try and stay fit. I'm not trying to bag, just saying as we get older it's important to stay in shape. I enjoy cleaning and detailing so that helps give me drive to do it, actually relaxes me, I can't wait next week I'll be doing the full detail and the chassis, need to touch up the paint. Just my 2 cents.

Not a problem, I love to detail them, especially when they are new. Just did my truck, wife's car and sons car. I have found that using turtle wax wash and shine it makes waxing much easier, than use 303 wax with uv production and it looks great.

Looking great is for sure. Good job.

When I was much younger I loved to spend time on a Saturday washing and cleaning both our cars. Great thinking time. Lots of satisfaction and pride of ownership. Like mowing the lawn or having the greenest lawn on the street.

Now at my age I still have the pride of ownership but let others do the hard work. Except the lawn as I live in AZ so no lawn just slow grow rocks.Been here 14 years and they are still to small to mow.

Nighthawk, you did an awesome job--Wow! Monty looks naked. Should be a lot easier to take care of without the decals.

I have a power washer and can use it to spray on wax. Have used on truck and car. Not as good as a hand wax job. Comparable to car wash spray wax.
Has anyone tried this on their Montana?
