Water Filter

Hi Everyone:

I pulled the panel behind the convienece center to check things out and found a water filter on a clip not connected to anything. Can anyone out there explain how this filter should be installed. I checked the Keystone Manual and found no mention of it. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Strange. On the three Montana's we've owned, plus the one Cougar, I've NEVER seen a water filter on anything, other than the one I put on myself! Have no clue......

Are you the original owners? There was no water filter installed on my Monty from factory. I installed a dual element filter system. Plus I am thinking about a water softener also because I live in FL. with hard water.

I have purchased 2 new Montanas and neither had a filter from factory.

I'm assuming that you bought a used rig and someone had installed it themselves probably along with a water softener and or pressure tank that they took with them. In that case you'll just need to see how they went from the incoming water line to their equipment and back and replumb it.

Hi Everyone:

This is a brand new 2015 Big Sky 379RL. I will take a picture of the filter this weekend and try and post it here. New here so I will have to figure out how to attach a picture. Thanks for all of the replies.

Regards,

Steve

It is part of the Big Sky Premium package. And yes they come from the factory, should have been covered in PDI.

I guess if you really want the Big Sky Premium package you have to hook this up yourself since the OP's was not connected to anything. Does this not give us an indication of how these things are being built and checked at the factory....
Nice to get a "free" filter but you have to plumb it, now that's premium...

The one I saw, canister is plumbed in, filter was just provide and hung, so that dealer doing the PDI could flush the system and then install filter in canister.

Hi Everyone:

I opened up the panel behind the convince center again. I looked everywhere for a canister or some way to hook the filter up. No luck. I am going to give Keystone a call tomorrow and see if they can shed some light on this. Really baffled as I can not see anywhere it can be connected. I will keep you all posted on the outcome.

Regards,

Steve

I see the model you have has a residential fridge. It doesn't by chance have an ice maker in it? If it does, would there be a filter to the ice maker?

Hi:

Yes it has the residential refer with an ice maker. I will check but I think the filter for the refer is much smaller then the one in the convenience center. Thanks for the suggestion.

Steve

Just fishing here but is it the type filter that drops into a canister, or is it an inline filter with a male fitting on one end with a female fitting on the other end? Jim

I'd hate to have to get behind the convenience center every time I needed to change the filter. Perhaps it is a LIFETIME filter.

The 2015 Big Sky's come with a water filtration system. That is one of the upgrades. It is supposed to be hooked up. You should take your unit back to the dealer and let them hook it up.
