Pressure Pro problem

As we were pulling out of Charleston, leaving Jim Fischer's birthday bash, I ran through the tire sensors on my trailer from my Pressure Pro monitor. Three tires at 70 and one at 52. What's the deal? All were at 70 when I left home. Thanks to Jim for pumping me up. This isn't first time that I lost pressure from one or more sensors. So I emailed PP and got a call. LSS, they are sending me new seals for all 11 sensors. Hopefully this will resolve problem. If not, I may have to consider looking at TST in the future.

Also check to see if the valve stems are loose on the tires loosing air. That has been a common problem.

Yes wiggle the valve stems and check for leaks.3 of my 4 OEM valve stems were defective on the 13 Big Sky.

I just put metal valve stems on all 12 tires when I put the new tires on. Will check though. I didn't see any o rings in the sensors so that might be the problem.

Should be little, mine are red, O rings in each sensor.

I just removed my Pressure Pro sensors today (going to get new tires) and one of them the O-ring (as Rich said - red) just fell out of the sensor. Must be that it's cold and they shrink. I have never had them fall out before.

The PP guy told me that they have gone from orange to black to now a double, locking gasket that won't allow you to over tighten and won't leak. I hope it works cause the kit for all 12 rings is $38. Might get it working right and make somebody a good deal on a Pressure Pro system. It won't be too long before I will need to start sending the sensors back for battery replacement. But, it did save me from running 5 hours on an under-inflated tire this time. It did its job.

I just checked and our PP sensors have a black washer in them with a small nipple pointing toward the valve stem. No other seals are visible. On the SOB 5ver we had G rated tires but rubber stem bases with a metal stem. I also had 1 tire (tires are < 1yr old) that seemed to always lose some air. Maybe it was the sensor all along. I have it removed now, so it will go onto the new Monty next month and I'll be able to see if it follows with the new rig. If it does, I guess I'll contact the mfg too.

The batteries in our PP system have lasted on a average of 6 years. They have never been in very cold weather. I did lose a O ring once and it did leak. However the TST system is a fine system also and I would now purchase whichever one gave me the best price.

I had two valve stem leaks. I thought it was the PP, but it was not. The stem was not defective but actually installed incorrectly. They were not tight. Had to dismount the tire and tighten the bolt on the inside. I actually was able to hand tighten from the outside enough to get to my destination.

Just got my o ring kit in yesterday. When you pull out the old plunger, there is a red ring under it. This kit puts a new plunger in and adds a new black rubber o ring on top of the plunger holding it in place. Hopefully this will take care of any issues. Will put them on tomorrow and let it sit for a couple of days and watch the pressures. Next trip scheduled for March, so got a little time. Oh, when I got the bill it was only $18 verses $39 from what they told me on the phone. Thanks PP.

I put the sensors on the four Monte tires on Monday. Pumped up and gauged the tires at 80 psi before putting them on. Checked PP monitor and three showed 77 and one showed 78 psi. Checked the monitor today (Friday) and all four showed 76 psi. I can assume that they are all holding and registering correctly. Hopefully this has resolved my concerns.
