So, can you run just the exhaust brake without having the tow haul engaged on the new GMs?

I haven't operated the engine brake on anything except an 80,000 tractor trailer.

So I am unsure about how the controls are configured on the light duty trucks.

My 2009 didn't come with and engine braking. I am not sure if it was even offered as an option in 2009.

Our TV just ran out of warranty and I will wait for another year or so before purchasing a new truck.

We want a new truck for the higher GVW because the SOB we are ordering will require more truck and of course the exhaust brake. I haven’t had any problems in the mountains and at 102,000 miles the brake pads are still less than 50% worn.
