Just got back from LA and Texas starting to plan our east coast trip Maine, Washington DC, SC are some of the spots we want to hit. What is the best time of year to make this trip from CA? Anybody have some camping spots on the way we always try to get on the water. Thanks.

If you go to South Carolina spend some time at Hunting Island state park. Check out hunting Island on the net. Since you are headed this way see the Blue Ridge parkway. The middle of October is THE time to see the Park Way and that would be a great time to see Hunting Island. About 200 camp sites have the only people that can get on several miles of sandy beach. Sounds like a great trip. We are leaving Chico, CA for the Rally in Goshen on 9/1/12 and then on to the east coast and then home. We have told the kids we will probably be home for Christmas but to gaurantees.
