Ah YES, I remember them well.....
Boy, this brought back a lot of memories! I had a few of these myself. My all time favorites were my 57 and 59 Chevs.

I did not see it there, but my two favorites were the 1951 Ford, and the 1955 Oldsmobile 88 four door coupe.
But I do remember all that are pictured. Thanks for bringing the memories up to the front of the line.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Glenn! In those days, it was easy to tell the make, model and year and now I am not sure of even the make.

What a great set of pictures someone put together.
As boylanag said, back in the day when you could see a car a 1/4 mile away and call out the make and model. Today at 50 yards, you can't tell a Mazda from a Mercedes or a Hyundai from a Lexus.
Had a '55 Chevy 210 and later a '62 Chevy Impala 2dr hardtop in anniversary gold. Loved that '62, but the '58 Chevy Impala Convertible was always (and still is) my dream car. Just wish I could afford to buy one.

Ah - my first car - a Turquoise 53 Mercury. Gads, I loved that car! This was in 1961.

Wayne - That is a new one on me also. Never heard of such.
But interestingly, if you google, you will find more than one. There are pictures of them that are obviously different; different color, 2 blade prop, 4 blade prop, safety grill in front of prop, etc. One site says in Jay Leno's garage. Another says in a Nashville museum.

Nice collections of photos. I was looking for my first car and didn’t see it in there. It was a 1962 Ford Fairlane 500, with 3-speed stick shift on the column. Ever wish you would have kept you first car?

Glenn,
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
My favorite photo was of the 1958 Edsel Citation with the caption:
"The EDSEL LOOK is here to stay -and 1958 cars will prove it."

Oh man, thanks Glenn, that was back when they made "cars". Those trophys had metal in them and a 15 mph bump into something wouldn't even scratch the paint. Today's plastic "cars" are so much scrap and totaled with a 5 mph bump into something.
I didn't see any Packards or Hudson's in that group - now there were some tanks. My favorite - the 57 Chev. Couldn't go wrong with that one and it was a "chick" magnet.

WOW!! Nice find. I had several of them and wouldn't really want any of them back if it was my only transportation.

We got a kick out of this - especially seeing the '49 Mercury. Hubby just bought one that he is working to completely restore! Gonna be a lot of fun and a beauty when he finally finishes!

Do I feel older than dirt. My first car was a 1929 Model A. Later I upgraded to a 1950 Olds. Man would it fly. Glad I am Having a Great Day. You Have a Great Day also.

Hey! I am way too young to have OWNED any of those cars, but my Dad and Uncles did drive us around in a few of them. btw - Wasn't it called a Plymouth Valiant, not Chrysler (It is chrysler but via the Plymouth label)?
How young am I? My first old car was a 1967 Mercury Cougar I bought in 1974. The oldest car I owned was a 1966 Chevy Belair acquired in 1980.
Have we come a long way? My Montana is larger and nicer than our first apartment!
